My boyfriend arranged a night out last Saturday that kicked off with dinner at Fish in a Tie. I am still congratulating him for finding such an amazing gem of a restaurant. We are foodies and eat out very regularly. Plus we were joined by his brother and wife who also eat out regularly. We had zero expectations and just hoped to get a quick feed in before heading on the the Peacock Bar. Despite the fun to be had later, the highlight of the night was our dinner. I was sorry to rush it and could have lingered over it for hours, enjoying all the lovely flavours and fabulous decor. From the moment we stepped through the door we were surprised and delighted with the lovely ambiance. Our waiter was excellent - so attentive and friendly. The menu is so varied and tempting - it took a while to select! I had the fried calamari starter which was perfect - crispy light batter coating melt in the mouth squid. Just remembering it now, my mouth waters! I may be wrong but the tartar sauce appeared home made and was divine. In fact every little bit of our meal appeared to have been lovingly prepared - ie: the potato side was a fab little gratin. Between the four of us we managed to order chicken, steak, lamb and fish mains - but each one was as tasty as the other! The gypsy lamb particularly so! I had choc mousse for dessert which was unbelievably rich and velvety. The apple pie and tiramisu were also scrumptious! But perhaps most incredible of all was the price - 3 of us opted for the special offer - 3 courses for 10 quid - not to be thrifty but because we genuinely wanted the dishes on this menu! As such the bill for four with two bottles of lovely wine was under 80.00. I still cannot believe it! I don't understand how they do it but I hope they never stop! It is my new favourite restaurant and we intend to go back again and again!

I went to Fish In Tie and Peacocks for my birthday last weekend and just wanted to compliment both organisations for ensuring we all had a marvellous time.

Fish In Tie is a wonderful family owned bistro so much more authentic than all those chain places. Food was excellent and the staff were lovely (met them all again afterwards at Peacocks) too. We had our own party room on their raised mezzanine floor which is one of Battersea's best kept secrets.

Onwards to Peacock's for cocktail lessons which were hilarious even if they very meanly only scored me "null points" We all enjoyed the shows especially Chinese Elvis although I did not quite have the courage to go on stage despite the offer of free champagne. After that lots of drinking and dancing till kick out time. Burlesque, cabaret and cheesy 80s Djs is such a good combination.

A special thanks to the security guy too who said I did not look a day over 25 - very flattering if not I suspect entirely true.

Fish in a Tie is fast becoming my favourite restaurant in London. Brilliant atmosphere, hidden away and entirely unpretenious.

I have been there with friends and for meals with my husband and never been disappointed. The meat is always good and the wine list is great. The staff are always accomodating and friendly.

Like others I have no idea how they manage to do such good food as such good prices but I hope they continue. There are so many restaurants that want to be rustic and charming but end up looking like a overpriced chain. A fish in a tie seems to do it effortlessly.

Wow. I went to the Fish in a Tie last night and I have to say I was very, very, very impressed. The food was very tasty, the prices are rock bottom and the service at the Fish in a Tie was terrific in spite of there being nine of us, getting rowdier the more the vino flowed.

Only disappointment of the night came with the cheese and biscuit platter. There were five pieces of cheese and three biscuits, a couple more biscuits would have been nice.

Rest of the meal was amazing.

I still shake my head in disbelief at the fact Fish In a Tie does a three course meal for £6 - you couldn't make it at home for that price! And it's not three flavours of Pot Noodle either. Plenty of fancy fish dishes, including monkfish and swordfish.
It's just amazing how cheap Fish In A Tie is for what you get.

A great little gem hidden away on Falcon Road. Great food at great prices. The atmosphere is good and the service excellent. In fact the menu, quality of food and service are hard to believe given the cheap prices.

Pretty damn good food and at really good prices at Fish in a Tie. Have been a few times and haven't been disappointed. It's always busy which is a good sign but that also means you should book!
