I had been to one of the Gallipoli restaurants 3 years ago and really enjoyed it. This time I wasn't so impressed.

Food was average at best - if you want good Turkish I would say pop over to Dalston.

While there were plenty of wait staff the service was slow. We asked for tap water 4 times before they brought it to us.

When we ordered the meze we ordered both pita and Turkish bread with it. The meze arrived with the pita and was followed by the Turkish bread nearly 15 minutes later. I wouldn't have minded if the bread were warm and fresh, but my guess is they bought it from one of the restaurants on Kingsland road the day before - in short it seemed like they pulled some bread out of the bag cut it up and tossed it in a basket - so unsure why it took 15 minutes to come out.

My boyfriend and i ate here early last Friday evening. We had both had stressful days and wanted to realx somewhere with a laid-back atmosphere. I had heard about this place and thought what a great opportunity. However, it was not quite as relaxed as you might first think. Our chairs were low and the table too high and we were sat right in the corner by the bar. We shared a Mezze platter and i have to say the food was absolutley amazing with perfect amounts for two! Unfortunately the combination of the restaurant not being what i would consider "romantically cosy" and rather cramped, bizarre psy-trance-esque music with our cloudy moods and the high powered air-conditiong made for a not fantastic night, however it is probably a great place for big groups of people, parties or a if you can manage to get a table outside.

Have been eating at Gallipoli Again for years and find the food very good. Tasty and very good value. The atmosphere is the selling point and is great for a group night out.
Gallipoli Again is highly recommended.

I have been to Gallipoli Again a few times and always enjoyed it but the last time I visited with friends we were very disappointed.


We all paid on separate cards only to discover afterwards that we had all been charged for service. A meal at Gallipoli Again for £45.00 had additional service of £24.00. This is a cheap trick - or rather an expensive one.

Gallipoli Again is part of a mini Islington chain of Turkish eateries. Definitely a place for groups, Gallipoli Again has a lively atmosphere and the house wine is a bargainous £10 a bottle. Not that I have a drinking probnlem or anything...
