I love this place. Despite the last review - if you haven't been there I urge you to try it as it's definitely not an accurate review of this restaurant. There's a reason it's won awards. It's due to the fresh fish, which is battered in front of you. The lovely portions of chips, the friendly service and comfortable surroundings. It's not meant to be a huge monopoly style restaurant like Pizza Express. Small is best. Having spoken to George recently about another favourite restaurant of mine in Enfield that serves fish and chips as well as scallops, oysters and alike, he revealed to me that they are actually planning to expand the restaurant and the kitchen so that they can cater for more and offer more on their menu. As a local to this restaurant, I feel very spoilt each time I go there.
Very small and uncomfortable eating environment out the back. No windows, tiny tables, not enough room for plates etc, acoustics dreadful, after 30 minutes is enough, claustrophobic.
Food generally good quality but lamb in kebabs consistently gristly.
Very expensive for family dining, 6 kebabs and few drinks over £100.00 and sat in the tent at the front. take away better value. Chips were very good but tepid. Staff r overpoweringly ingratiating.
Now and again visit not bad.
If there is more than two of you try the meze as its fantastic value and extremely tasty. Make sure you are hungry though.
The waiting staff here are some the most friendly and polite I have encountered - all in all its a nice food experience RH
Went to georges after reading all the fab reviews on the shop winning londons perfect portion award and we absolutly loved it!! We had a traditional cod and chips this was cooked perfectly, service was great too. Defenetly award winning standards.
Best fish and chips by far. You should try this restaurant and take the kids they will love it too.
