Guennie again. Forgot to give star-rating. I would give Getti's four. My limited selection from their menu doesn't really qualify me to go any further.

I was sorry to read the unfavourable June 2008 review. I've eaten, through personal choice, at Getti's four times since Christmas 2009, three times with old friends and today, Mother's Day, with my son.

What impresses me most is the atmosphere created by the mostly Italian staff who manage to have an attitude which is both professional and relaxed. You are never rushed at lunchtime as there is at least one member of staff there after the lunch session has finished who is quite happy for you to stay on over coffee.

I tend to choose from their delicious pasta dishes, so I can't comment on the whole menu. However, the swordfish we had today was flavourful and satisfying. I like very much the fact that if you are in doubt about which wine will suit your choice of food, they will serve little tasters to help you choose.

Some restaurants just feel right. Getti's is one of them.

Whoever wrote the other two reviews here must be related to the owner. 1/ It is NOT owned by Terence Conran - and if it was he would NEVER admit to serving such grub. 2/ I've been there twice (too many) and it is probably the worse Italian food in the area. With Caldezi down the High St, Strada (Yes Strada!!) on Baker St and the freezer section of Waitrose so close by;-), the only reason to sit down at Getti is that you'll get an outside table easily on a Summer evening (which says something!). I've been away from the area for 6 months and was hearing all sorts of stories about the new shops on the high st, praying Getti would no longer be there - Alas!!!!

Getti is an experience no-one should miss out on. The venue is stylish and the menu elegant. The food is first class, with the Getti fish dishes a particular favourite of mine.

Getti is an amazing Italian restaurant. I think it’s owned by Terence Conran – but if it isn’t, it’s an amazingly stylish place with great food.
Eat at Getti and you’ll never eat Italian anywhere else again.
