I have twice visited giftos lahore recently and have to say the sevice was second to none.

The first time i had a starter called bhel puri i belive thats what it was called anyhow and was something like a bombay mix with a sauce but suprisingly nice and then i bit the bullet and had the curried lambs brain which i was dying to find out what it was like....

I cant say I was dissapointed the spices in the dish were to die for but i wasnt impressed with the texture of the brain but then again i didnt know what to expect, with this i had the pilau rice which i must say just one portion would suffice for two people and the peshwari nan was by far the best I have ever come across.

The second time i took a guest who had the lamb samosa's to start while i had the onion barji's(playing it safe with what we know) I swapped my OB with his LM and we both agreed the samosa was absolutly ace, packed with lamb a few peas and spices and not like some you see stuffed with potato and onions.

for the main my friend opted for the jumbo prawn tikka which did look good and he commented that the flavours were good and as for me I opted for something different again and had the lambs trotters in a thick gravy...

well the gravy was not thick and the trotters did not get touched apart from me spitting the first mouthfull back onto the plate, they were just fat and bone and no meat in sight no matter how hard you looked so i had to fill myself up with a keema nan that was quite nice and grease free while my friend had the chilli nan that he found was not spicy enough for his liking.

But i shall go again and i think i will try the mixed grill which looks amazing and looking around at other orders looks the most popular.

Excellent restaurant. We were a aparty of four and had a great time here. IT was very busy and we soaked in the atmosphere.

We had a Mix Grill for starters with Peshwari Nann which was amazingly delicious. I have never had meat so tender that it melted in your mouth and really well seasoned and spiced. The Naan was soft and had pistachios and other wonderful things on it, making perfectly unique and mouth watering.

We moved on to the main course, Karahi Chicken and Karahi Gosht, Tarka Dhall and Jeera Chicken. This was true pakistani Lahore curries at its best. The meats were all well infused in the curry with a rich aroma. This was the best Dhall i have ever tasted.

We moved on to the Deserts, but by now, there was really not much space left in our stomachs, but the Falooda that was being served on to the other tables looked too good to miss. The best Falooda i have ever tasted.

The service was grand as well and very attentive. This restaurants looks very modern and is every part a modern equivalent of a Pakistani restaurant.

There's a reason why I make the 18 mile round trip to Giftos Lahore Karahi and back every fortnight or so by bike! The food is fresh and hot and, with lamb with baby pumpkin or brains on the menu, there is plenty of variety too. And I ride home with my wallet not a lot lighter, either.

Giftos Lahore Karahi is best at lunchtime. Stay away from the draughty door, too. There's no licence, but nor is there any objection to bringing in a can from a nearby off licence. Recommended.

Gifto's Lahore Karahi has the worst price for corporate deals, and terrible service.

Gifto’s is a lovely Indian restaurant – and the only place I’ve ever seen lamb’s brain on the menu! Not sure if I’m up to the challenge myself, but nice to see Gifto’s are giving me the chance to face my dietary fears!
