Hi guys.I really don't see point of this restaurant having bad reviews on this website.I had a meal there on Saturday night and it was brilliant.I really enjoyed the food and the service.I will be back there for sure.

Worst service experience I've ever had.
We went in around 2pm for a quick lunch. We were seated right away, and though how pleasant the ambiance was. However, that soon changed when we were ignored for 20 mins. When we finally ordered (a lunch special of a pizza, a side salad and a glass of house white), we watched three other tables who ordered after us receive our food. The wine was terrible and tasted like it had been watered down. The glass finished, we were not looked at until I made eye contact with a waiter to ask where our food was. He said he'd check, and we were further ignored for another 5 mins when we were informed that there had been a 'mix-up' with our order. We waited nearly an hour in total for our food, and it came out partially cooked, with an 'upgraded' salad with tuna...my partner can't eat seafood.
Even though the situation was so ridiculous, we were still asked to pay the full bill. We will NEVER go back to such a failure of a restaurant.

Giotto is an awful place. Bland, tasteless food and rude staff – it is not what an Italian restaurant should be about.
Giotto is one big disappointment – go to the Italian Kitchen across the road instead.

How much reliance can we place on anonymous reviews ?---especially this one which slags off one restaurant while recommending a rival in the same street.

If you look up the Italian Kitchen that is so strongly recommended you find that it has only one review and , surprise surprise , it too is anomymous.

How do we know it is not a disguised advert? I have been to Giotto only once and it was reasonably good food and fair value on that occasion.
