I liked this place. Funky decor, more like a bar than a Chinese. The food was good and the bill at the end a very pleasant surprise. Didn't notice the service to be honest, probably becasue I was with the girlies having a good catch-up, but in which case cannot have been bad. The place was busy (it was a Saturday night) with two larges parties. I'd certainly go back again, but bearing in mind the criticism I'd probably have it down as a group venue rather than as a couple.

I went to Golden Dragon on a Friday night. The service was awful even though the restaurant was very quiet. All the staff looked miserable and grumpy. I usually pay by card and leave a cash tip. When I was paying by card the waiter had the nerve to ask where his tip was (even though there is a 10% service charge). Golden Dragon is awful - do not waste your time.

The Golden Dragon looks nice and the staff are so-so, and that would probably how I would describe its food - looks nice, but tastes so-so. For one of the fancier-looking restaurants, I would have expected the Golden Dragon to have a far greater range on the menu, especially its dim sum.

Furthermore, I would have guessed the food would be higher quality. However, it only provides the most well-known of dishes, and even for those who can order in Chinese there certainly was not anything special. It is still popular and it always seems to be buzzing, so it can't be all bad, but this place is unlikely to be a restaurant which you will return to after the first couple of visits.

If you're after a relaxing dinner, I'd give Golden Dragon a wide berth. Not only is the decor bright enough to blind you, but the staff are obviously on some health kick - dashing around like they're burning the calories - making it hard to strike up a rapport.
The Golden Dragon does good food - it's just at a too fast speed.

Booked a table for 1pm for a nice lunchtime date.

Arrived at 1pm and was put in a crowded corner.

Sat for 15 minutes while other people were seated.

Got given a large table for which a walkie talkie would have been useful to speak with my date.

Food OK, otherwise forget it - I won't be returning.

Customer service is very poor. Moreover, the general manager is very rude

Appalling service, rude staff, everything that you wouldn't expect from a Chinese restaurant. Food is average.
