Ate at the Golden Union after reading the excellent reviews, and believe me they are spot on - our Cod & Chips together with Mushy Peas was just first class and with two cups of tea each and bread and butter we only paid £25, in London its hard to beat. We will certainly be back.

Found this spot on my last night in London after looking for an authentic chippy for six days. The atmosphere is warm, the staff very friendly, and the fish and chips were awesome. Be careful not to order too much as a large haddock with chips can feed two or three people. Loved it and can't wait to get back!

Fantastic Food, Service and great value.

The venue is stylish, a great place to take your friends and family.

Any negative reviews, well they must of been in the wrong restaurant.

best chip shop i've ever been to and i've been all over from the frozen north to the poxy south. golden union delivers on quality of ingredients - the very, very best, execution - top drawer with fresh oil every day, and the best people - the people who work there add value just by being there. you will not get better short of catching and cooking them yourself. the end.

I eat here every Friday and its wicked. Big portions, friendly staff and the best home made tartare source around. Make it a must see.

I've been using this fish & chip shop on a very regular basis since it's opening and i'm very suprised to read anything negative about it.This has to be the best fish & chips in the West End i should know i've tried them all.Not only is the food good the staff are great as well.

It was the worst Fish and Chips I have ever had in my life.
The fish was just not fresh at all.
£10 for very low quality. Just not worth it.

The only reason it gets one star is for the staff. The food is appalling. Fish not cooked. No flavour at all and mushy peas were certainly anything but. For the price you pay, you'd have to pay me to go there again!

The Best Chippy by far in the West End, I had the pie and chips the pastry and fills were 1st class, as was the gravy and chips. You have to go to Herne Hill to get anything close to this!!

Just had the pollock... it was raw. When the waitress took my plate away there was no reference to the partially dissected but uneaten fish on my plate. Presume it is a regular occurrence. £10 for chips and curry sauce is a bit steep. Next time I'd go to the sushi bar next door.
