The worst Chinese/Thia food ever! Order was supposed to be 45 mins, got food 1.20hr later. Green Curry inedible and hotter than the sun ... dim sum soggy, cold and awful sauce... like eating wet pancakes! bad sweet and sour ...expensive but totally not worth it! don't be fooled by gourmet oriental ... nothing gourmet just over - priced! And it seemed like they couldn't care less ... DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!

WORSE CHINESE EVER!We ordered fried rice and chicken cashew. It was the most horrendous food I have ever tasted. We literally were spitting our food in the bin. We called to ask if we could have a replacement meal sent out because the food was literally inedible and the girl on the other end of the phone said they don't make replacement food or give refunds. They advised they have never received any complaints towards their food.She said they wouldn't replace the food because the chef cooked it fresh and it wasn't their problem that we didn't like it. They said they will send more food but we will have to pay for it and she kept sighing and refusing to help.They also sent spring rolls instead of the pancakes.This was the WORSE customer service I have ever experienced. Do NOT order from this store.

I ordered a Chinese meal last Friday (28/01/11) which arrived stone cold and not very nice to taste considering the one we ordered the week before was probably one of the best Chinese meals I'd ever eaten. I had looked forward to eating another all week but to say i was disappointed with what arrived is an understatement. When my partner called to complain we were told we had to repackage everything and send it back which we did. We obviously had to try all the food and had actually plated it up to realise it was of a much worse quality than what we had experienced the week before... and to also realise everything was STONE COLD. Our entire night was then taken up with arguing with the Surrey branch (this is where our food had been delivered from as opposed to our local Maida Vale branch... who cooked us a great meal the week before) which explains why it was cold. I have never experienced such inconsistency in food from one week to the next and such argumentative staff. We deserved a full refund which we did not get... even after sending it back! I was left hungry for the rest of the evening and very upset by the bad experience.

My meal was 2 1/2 hours late, and arrived cold. The restaurant never called me. However, when I called to let them know how long I had been waiting, I was awarded a 'hefty' £9 discount and a discount on future orders. Like I will be calling them again! So, I basically waited 2 1/2 hours for cold, mediocre food that now cost the same price as takeout in a more affordable oriental restaurant. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE.

I have never quite experienced anything like this! For over £25 our food arrived after an hour cold, and absolutely inedible. To top it all off we rang to tell them, asking for a full refund to be told we couldnt as we'd tasted it and we didnt understand authentic food. After much arguing and insults on there part we couldnt speak to a manager and my boyfriend got in his car to take it back. Please god dont order from here, its the most awful takeaway Ive ever had for alot of money

We just ordered a Thai red curry and chicken & cashew nuts. Red curry had large chunks of uncooked vegetables and tough chicken. Chicken & cashew nuts was unlike any chicken and cashew nuts you would find in Thailand - it came in a gloopy sauce & was very spicy - not what we expected at all. All the food arrived cold & rice was a cold white lump. Very disappointing, particularly for the price - we spent over 30 pounds and most of the food went in the bin. Don't believe the positive reviews - the food is terrible.

Great food, the service is another issue. There have been more than one occasion where my order was screwed up. As someone already stated, the people who answer the phone are intolerable.

On the bright side I did enjoy the food. Kung Po chicken, house special fried rice and dim sum mixed starters are particularly good. Don't expect great service though.

When on the website it clearly says no longer than 45 mins, so they finally delivered the food only for it to be so salty you could only eat so much!!!

AND they didn't bring our vegetarian pancakes! Judge for yourself - i suppose there are worse places.

We waited for 3 and a half hours, had to phone six times to find out where the order was, and the most they were willing to give us back was the 2 pound delivery charge! We received the food at 11:30pm, and when it arrived it was cold. The staff were unhelpful and refused to let us speak to a superviser.

Dreadful. Food took 2 hours to arrive and was virtually inedible. And it was very expensive - a waste of 20 quid. Never again.

i've ordered green curry...the chicken was so untasty...the food tasted like dog's food.Ive complained, and service after complaining was appalling!!!!

I have been using G.O. for about a year now - the food is normally quite good (wouldn't quite put it in the Gourmet bracket but for a takeaway, above average). Having ordered recently, I've decided that's the last one - the service is intolerable. I realise that ordering a takeaway will always be a different service to dining in - but I can only tolerate the rude telephone manners for so long. The last straw was when the woman on the phone rattled through the order so fast that I barely could get a word in and I 'think' I heard the delivery time to be 45 mins - but she had put the phone down on me by then. If you don't mind having a one-sided conversation then be my guest but I prefer to actually hear the person on the other end.
