I ate lunch here with my family the other week. After being at out table for less than 30 seconds we were asked what we wanted to drink. Strange because we hadn't even had a moment to peruse the drinks menu. Being that it was in the middle of the day and we were driving we chose not to drink alcohol. I was asked at least 5 times if I would like some wine. We were in for a quick meal and for lunch so we chose a main pizza each which was fairly nice but the waiter insisited upon hounding us into entrées and of course wine again!!!! I really hate this pushy service and it spoiled the lunch for me. I think the pizzas were well done but you obviously pay more for the locale. I would go again but I won't be leaving a tip.

Ahhh The Gourmet Pizza Co. I was a manager there in the late 90's. During the summer months we'd swing open the doors, carry the tables & chairs out and have a real good time enjoying the summer evenings working alfresco...the place was buzzing!

The pizza's ..English Breakfast...Chinese Duck.. Goats Cheese & Pesto..some of the strangest but mouth watering pizzas I'd ever seen & all made to order with freshest ingredients.

It's owned and operated by Pizza Express now and has lost all its quirky charms. The ingredients come frozen & the staff have no charm.
Because of it's location (you can practically dip your toes in the river) It will always be popular with the passing tourist trade.
I'd still recomend the place, but be prepared for a wait.

The Rivera Restaurant next door was also sold to Pizza Express as part of the sell off...they'd be better off puting it back on the market so someone who knows how to run a fine dining place can turn it around...it was much better in its heyday as a bistro. Don't bother stepping in there now..it's awful!

worst pizza and italian food I have ever had in London. Avoid. Eat at Strada or Pizza Express by Festival Hall.

When I arrived at 7.30pm spot on time for my reservation for four at Gourmet Pizza Company, I was rather thrown off track when the lady unapologetically told me that the manager had decided to cancel all reservations for less than 7 people due to the good weather.



Despite the fact that the Gourmet Pizza Company had taken my telephone number when I made the reservation, no one bothered to call. She said I could wait for a table if I wanted, but given the rudeness and utter lack of consideration before I had even sat down I decided not to bother.

I wish Gourmet Pizza would take trade-ins for their pizzas. I have a house full of junk, but sadly no cash, so I can’t afford to eat here every night. Gourmet Pizza should take pity on a poor soul like me.
