We went to Greenwich last night to watch 2001 A Space Odyssey. And what a miserable evening! It was the most disorganised event I have ever been too! The website states there will be chairs, blankets to rent. There were none! The website stated there would be toilets. These were closed! There was supposed to be food / drink available. Well the small stall closed 10 mins into the film. The screen was tiny. And basically we were a sad bunch of people sitting in a car park late on a Sunday without even the view of the city (since we were behind the observatory! Plus anyone could just walk up and watch since the screen wasn't obscured from view. The carpark wasn't fenced off at all except for one piece of rope around. Admittedly you could buy (for £12.50) cushions but why not rent them? And the staff were all so young and disorganised. The viewing was late to start and when leaving, didnt direct people how to leave the very dark park. All in all. Go at your own peril! Outdoor cinema is a great idea, but at greenwich it is very poor executed! You have been warned!
