The restaurant is set on two levels and downstairs there is a large open kitchen where you can see the chefs work their magic. Sleek tables, muted colours and attractive lighting make Ground stand out from other burger restaurants – this place has class.
The AtmosphereThis restaurant is informal and the staff are very friendly. This is the type of place where you could come with your family or a date – it’s a relaxed option.
The FoodThere is a great range of burgers and salads available on the menu and a handful of good honest desserts. Burgers range from about £5.50 for a classic burger to about £9 for one made with sirloin steak. The New York deli burger is delicious, and contains a good quality, well cooked Scotch beef burger, with mature cheddar, bacon, barbeque sauce, relish and salad. The burger is succulent and combines well with the tangy tomato relish, nutty cheese and crunchy salad.
Those who prefer fish can opt for the char-grilled butterfish burger with pesto and char-grilled red pepper and courgette – the fish fillet is cooked to perfection and melts in your mouth, it has a delicate taste with a hint of smokiness from the grill. Try these burgers with shoestring fries, which are slightly salty and satisfyingly crunchy, and the homemade coleslaw, which is creamy and fresh. Vegetarian burgers are also available. If you have room, try the soft gooey chocolate brownie with creamy vanilla ice cream – a perfect end to a meal.
The DrinkDiners can choose from a large range of soft drinks, wine, beer, coffees or milk shakes made with ice cream. There is an impressive range of bottled beers and a good wine list as well,
