Shockingly shocking. I couldn't even tell you about any of the dishes as they were so forgettable. We had to wait 45 minutes for our table with no apology or complementary glass of something and then they served us stale bread, I pointed this out politely in conversation with the waitress and all she said was 'well you do have the last seating of the night'.... £600 for the two of us- I can't even tell you what I wanted to do with her dry old bread with foam overload.

Absolute rubbish, spend your money at Le Gavroche instead, outstanding service, a French taste explosion and at least Michel Roux Jr is doing the cooking!

We had the tasting menu and were terribly disappointed. Not one course wowed us, and at £400 for two (includes wine and service), we were expecting to be wowed. The pork dish, with its pinapple and sweet sauce, tasted remarkably like a Hawaiian pizza a la Pizza Hut. The couple next to us was so displeased, they actually walked out.

I went there on Friday with two other friends. Once every 2-3 months, we splash out on a special meal at a top restaurant - last time it was Pied a Terre, and the time before, it was Chez Bruce.I came out of the meal REALLY disappointed at the overall value of what we'd experienced. Food & drink for three people came in at just over £600 which included one bottle of wine (which was by no means an expensive one where their list is concerned), a glass of champagne, and a moderately priced Cognac. There were some *utterly* mouthwatering amuse bouches, but the breads, starter and main course were extremely poor given the standard at which this restaurant pitches itself. The service was fine and I have no complaints therein. My starter (grouse with offal ravioli) was so bitter it was as if someone had stirred in some burnt plastic. When the waiter came to clear the plates, he asked about the food. I (very) politely informed him that I didn't really enjoy my dish as it was very bitter. I was informed by the Maitre D' that it "was an aquired taste". Interestingly we were not asked our opinions about any of the subsequent dishes.I am more than happy to pay this price range for food however, the food itself must have something more special about it than what was offered to me as "signature" starter and main course dishes on the evening.I will would not consider returning in a hurry.
