It is a shame that the price does not reflect the quality of what is on offer. I would have been happy with what I got if it was half the price or twice as good!
I absolutely love Hush and our visit last week was not disappointing.
I have probably eaten here a dozen times over the years and, whilst the menu has not changed that much, the food is always very consistent and there are plenty of options that I would choose from the menu.
Last week I tried the Caramelised onion tart with blue cheese and a seabass dish with truffle dressing which were both delicious.
Friends shared the Chateaubriand for two people which was cooked perfectly.Service is unobtrusive and punctual and there is a very decent wine list.
Only disappointment was we did not have time to try the cocktails in the upstairs bar first.I would recommend Hush to anyone.
I am puzzled by the previuos reviewers comments, I found Hush Brasserie to provide an excellent service and the food was very enjoyable. The jewel in all of this however was the atmosphere, as it was so relaxing.
Hush Brasserie wasn't the best place I've ever had a business lunch at, but I am in the process of booking it once again as I felt that it met my needs so well.
The £35.00 at Hush Brasserie set menu is downright disappointing. The service was an odd mixture of attentive, careless and snotty, which was best characterised by the unapologetic slopping of water into half a glass of wine.
The food quantities at Hush Brasserie were all small and the choice of ingredients was badly matched. I had a bland pumpkin soup with a thumb sized mini muffin, a very small portion of penne that looked good, but had no substance, no aroma and little flavour, and a good sticky toffee pudding.
Our share of the bill came to around £100 for two. Overall, Hush has a welcoming atmosphere let down by service, and positively shamed by a food quality surpassed with £10.00 of frozen ready meals.
I think Hush Brasserie is a real find. I love the quiet street and when you go there with friends they are always impressed you know somewhere off the beaten track. Part of the appeal of Hush Brasserie for me is certainly the location.
They made us feel unwelcome at Hush Brasserie with service urging us to order as soon as we sat down. The food is good but way overpriced for what it is.
The waitress took the wine list away before we could choose a wine and the manager was most unhelpful. We didn't enjoy Hush Brasserie and certainly will not be back.
Hush Ground has nice surroundings and excellent service.
Very overpriced!
