The last two times we were in London, we dined here five times. Great wine list, excellent menu with food reminiscent of days in Italy. Of course the "professional" service made for a fine dining experience. I am planning another visit.

I have to disagree with other reviewers' comments about the service at Il Falconiere - they seem to be comparing it to some standard ideal they think all good restaurants should have. Not the case. Il Falconiere's service is typical of many wonderful Mediterranean restaurants, where they believe you are there for the food and not to be fussed around like some over-indulged poodle. You're not the star, the food is. Service is not 'brusque and unfriendly' at all - it forgoes flamboyance and flair for efficiency (beautifully cooked and flavoured food served within minutes when I was there on a Thursday night) and an experience that centres around your plate rather than your waiter's ability to act like your butler. If you want pandering, try any number of wannabe michelins in the streets surrounding it.

I found Il Falconiere to be a delicious meal served with the minimum of fuss in discreet surroundings - a great way to catch up with friends or wrap up a busy day. And it wasn't bad on prices either - with mains ranging from £8 - £20, everyone was happy.

If you like wanky South Ken restaurants, Il Falconiere is for you. Mediocre food, staff who are up their own arse’s, and a bill to make you cry.

Mostly the food was acceptable though mediocre - no better than you would expect for somewhere fairly cheap. However, as a lifelong chocaholic I have never before left most of my desert uneaten - the was just too rubbery to swallow.

The major failing was the service - the staff were brusque and unfriendly, food was dumped on the table with no care or finesse, I generally felt unwelcome.

Towards the end of the meal I felt very thirsty and asked for the water jug to be refilled. When no water was brought after 10 minutes, I asked again, saying that I urgently needed some water - yet this too had no effect. The third time I asked the waiter said "If you don't stop moaning I definitely won't bring you any" - I was horrified.

It wasn't until I was practically in tears and saying that I thought I might be ill if I didn't get some water soon that he finally condesended to fetch me some.
