From the moment you enter this restaurant, you feel like you are in another world. The architecture & design is simply stunning and the glow from the projector-lit tables makes everything feel just a little surreal. We were sat at the back near the living wall (!). I was worried about using the tables but a very lovely waitress gave a thorough explanation and it was all very straight forward. We ordered the seafood curry, rice, fish buri bop, black cod, seabass, tomato and avocado salad and sea scallop and that was more than enough for 2. Everything was just delightful and delicious. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
I went with 4 friends to Inamo St james on saturday night. For me and my husband it was our 3rd time there, and for my friends it was there 1st experience.we had really bad service all through the evening. First the receptionist/waitress who gave us our table, said that 1 of our friend will not be able to use the table to order(which is the WHOLE point of coming to that restaurant basically) because the projector wasn't working. then i complained and they moved us into new table (all working), great the evening can start now...but it didn't went well.the service was really bad, one of our friend had to wait 15 minutes for his starter to arrive, then we ordered sake arrived without correct amount of glasses, the ice had melted when we received the outstanding glass. and then the worst...4 of us received their main course...and 1 received it 40 MINUTES later! (obviously asking each waiter to check for our friend's main course...we all had finished our dinner by the time he received his dish.We called the manager in charge again, and we explained that we will not pay service charge.I love their Food i can't deny, but the service and the management team is useless and is crap. I can say this things because i and the people i went with are all working in that industry and working in michelin (or not) star restaurant, so we know what minimum of customer service we deserve and that we didn't get there that night.I won't recommend it, and i will try the one in Soho, but this is the last chance i give them.
Went to Inamo last night after the theatre. Thought that the interactive ordering system was really fun and a novelty for a while however the food was a bit average and expensive for what it was.
We ordered 4 small dishes edamame and miso. The crab maki and marbled beef were good. The pork ribs tasted good but were tiny and were luke warm whilst the nigiri didn’t taste particularly fresh. The dishes were quite small and we didn’t feel particularly full when we left.
Trying to order the bill was a bit of a problem as it wasn’t ready on the system for a while, and the staff were a bit slow. Bill for 2 people was £89 so feel this was pretty expensive for 4 tapas size dishes and 3 drinks!
Was a fun experience but wont be back here.
I took my family to Inamo Sunday afternoon. Food, service
was excellent. Children entertained by the interactive ordering service and games. Friendly, polite staff and lovely surroundings/ambience.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant and in particular their soft shell crab.
Found the restaurant via the internet before going to London and glad I did. The outside of the building bore no reflection to the inside and was rather understated. Can't help thinking that people would pass without realising what treats lay inside.
