I came here before a show and booked in early for 5:30, thee decor was good and it had a nice, relaxed atmosphere. The staff were for most of the part pleasant however, before we had even decided what we wanted (less than 5 minutes after sitting down) we were approached 7 times by no fewer than 4 members of staff and I started to get a little irritated and felt perhaps they were trying to hurry us (in hindsight I feel they were just dis-organised) on the 7th approach my husband very politely explained the situation to the wine waiter and asked if we could have a little more privacy and after this the rest of the staff were fine but the wine waiter who I felt to offense to this comment and perhaps the fact that we knew which wine we wanted and didn't really need his advice on what wine to have with our meal. He seemed to decide to annoy us as much as possible whilst always keeping a polite and smiling face he wouldn't leave us alone, even when we told him we were alright.
I was so shocked at times that I couldn't even complain. A few examples, he came over to re-fill my wine glass and I hovered my hand above the glass and said, "I'm alright thanks" so he filled up my partners and stood at the table until I had removed my hand fom above my glass and then proceeded to fill up my wine glass. I just let him hoping he would then move away but he just didn't it started to get really uncomfortable but we were there for a nice evening so didn't want to ruin it by causing a scene so said nothing. He was in my opinion smarmy and sarcastic and I was glad to be away from him.The food was decent but I would have expected more for the price we paid but the whole experience was just ruined by the passive aggressive wine waiter
Very much enjoyed my visit to Incognico. Went on a toptable.co.uk deal (50% off food for two courses or more) so the price of the meal was very favourable.
It was mid-week and pre-show; the staff were very attentive to our needs and helped us ensure we arrived at the show on time without rushing through our two courses (with wine and coffee).
Not sure if it's worth the full price, but with a deal on food - a brilliant pre-show dining option.
I remembered this place and how much I had enjoyed my last visit 2 years ago after a late cancellation from the restaurant I had originally booked. I booked this with an hour to spare (and in a slight panic) as I'd planned a nice pre-theatre dinner with my Mum as a special treat. Incognico lived up to my memory of the venue, in fact this visit was even better than before. The food was perfect, service well paced and attentive without being interfering. The wine lsit was great (we had the Sancerre which was gorgeous) and offered a variety of choices in both type and price band. Despite being early in the evening, the atmoshpere was busy, but chilled. The expereince is just like being in a Paris brasserie. I haven't got a bad word to say about the restaurant, we left feeling very happy with the meal and the expereince in general. I'll definitely be going back and I won't be leaving it 2 years until my next visit.
I had a fantastic meal in Incognico last night. The food was simple, unpretentious and delicious. Everything from the service to the presentaion at Incognico was spot on.
Incognico has private room booking for 12 people. They catered for us exceptionally well with regards to service and food.
Really excellent.
I was never mad about Incognico, it was always really middle of the road in my opinion. However, I went there last night and it has really changed. The food at Incognico was fantastic and the staff were extremely charming and attentive which makes all the difference to your evening. The whole feel of the place is different, it’s a refreshing change. I really enjoyed every part of my meal and I’ll definitely be returning to Incognico soon.
Incognico is just getting better. The wine list is excellent and the roast lobster last week literally melted in my mouth. Having just undergone a makeover Incognico is just pure class.
Incognico could so have been the worst restaurant in the world. For one thing, it's French. Then it sells foie-gras. And the wine list is humungous. I was expecting Incognico to be full of the snobby types that appreciate those sort of things, but luckily it's the complete opposite.
I had a lovely time.
