We came to Juniper with a party of 10 for an important wedding anniversary for Sunday Lunch. The two ladies front of house were pleasant but fairly unsmiling and made no attempt to communicate with us for our family celebration, which as all restaurateurs ought to know is what puts people off re-booking even more than poor food. The starters were excellent but one failed to arrive with the rest which is what exactly what happened with the main courses. This makes it difficult for both the rest of the party who don't want to start before everyone is fed and the one person who is waiting.
Most of the main courses - in particular the fish (sea bass) and the roast lamb were excellent. The roast beef however, described as medium rare on the menu came in thin gobbets of nearly raw strands of meat with stringy connective tissue covered in a jus which overpowered any flavour the meat might have had. The waitress must have seen by the piles of scraps left on the would-be beef eaters plates that all was not well but no comment was made or asked for. Either the chef had to cook extra beef at the last minute and it wasn't done or rested in time or he had failed to cook it properly in the first place.
The lemon tart was beautifully sharp but the pastry was soggy.
Such a shame because so much was good but if the front of house staff had been on their toes or shown any warmth they might have saved a situation which means we won't be coming back
Juniper Dining is a cracking local restaurant - home-cooked food to a very high standard, very good value for the quality of the food, great menu choice and seasonal options (I had a haggis starter for Burns Night last night), really relaxed environment and good, friendly service. I have been a few times now (inspite of living in deepest darkest south London), and every dish I have had has been delicious. A big, fat meaty halibut steak; an awesome hash brown, smoked salmon and oozing poached egg starter; a perfectly cooked pink and juicy duck breast, with the most amazing roasted artichokes I have ever had... and a beautiful lemon tart with the thinnest pastry imaginable!
I am just gutted that Juniper Dining is not closer to where I live! Highly recommended and deserves to do really well.
I live locally to Juniper and couldn't be happier having such a dependable restaurant as my local. I actually stumbled across Juniper looking for a nice cafe for breakfast. The breakfast is one of the best in London......with hash browns that good Ill always come back for more.
If the service was terrible I'd still be back as the food is that good...luckily this is not the case. The staff are always helpful and go the extra mile. I had dinner there on Saturday 18th with my partner and one of our mains was delayed....literally the second we noticed that people came in after us were getting their mains the waitress came to the table to apologise and offer us a drink on the house.
The food is always without fault on the occasions we have visited. The chef clearly knows a thing or two about seafood. Keep up the good work!

Had a genuinely unpleasant experience here. Booked with my Taste London card on a Wednesday for a birthday dinner for my friend. When we arrived she didn't feel well and so asked if it would be possible to order two starters instead of a starter and a main. The waitress told us it would be fine. Five minutes later the waitress came back and said the chef had refused to make two starters as we were using the Taste London card (my other friend and I had three courses each). The waitress was very apologetic, and when my friend politely explained that she was ill, spoke to the chef again. The message was the same - we could order three courses or leave.
The restaurant was nowhere near full and the chef was clearly going to lose about £2 but he refused compromise. In the end we had a really uncomfortable meal, the food did not make up for the appalling service, and despite being a local I will never go here again.
By far the best restaurant I have had the pleasure to eat in for years. Delicious food, an amazing wine list, great hospitality. Rob (owner and chef I think) is so friendly and comes out to talk to you if you want. Prices so reasonable for the quality. I will go back and back.
I have been to Juniper Dining twice and both times loved the poached egg with smoked salmon which was perfection.
The Sunday roast was also tasty and a generous portion with delicious Yorkshire pudding.
Lovely, warm atmosphere too.
Really worth a visit (a few actually)

I went here for the first time at the weekend for Brunch with friends. Really great high quality food with amazing service at good value.
Not much more you could want really.
