Every so often, amongst all of the bland-tasting uninspiring beef that seem as if the chef was told how to cook by an herbivorous-stranger on the tube on his way to work, I am reminded of exactly why I have such a long lasting love affair with steak. The steak at jw is a reminder as effective as the cruise-missile in which it shares a name. With my cockles well warmed thanks to the well stocked bourbon bar I proceeded to the table. The menu reads so agonizingly well that it is almost impossible to decide on what to order. So having sought the manager's advice started with the crab-cakes with the Tomahawk as a main. Whilst tackling another bourbon, I waited in envious-anticipation as I watched others receive their desserts, mains and most agonizingly foods which I did not order. That is what is great about the jw it seems as if everything is amazing. My crab-cakes were good, just the right amount of batter and moisture. Not too much of the former that you feel like its from a seaside chippy and enough of the latter to keep its form but melt in your mouth. And then the steaks arrived. The Tomahawk was so abundant in size it seemed as if we would need another table to accommodate it. The t-bone no slouch either - filling half of the trough like plate it was served in. As I tend to have my steak rare, I was disappointed with my first bite but this was with good reason. The steak is so large, 32oz, it has to be cooked medium. The disappointment didn't last long. By the time I was near the bone, a knife wasn't even needed, it was so tender. My mouth was well and truly carpet bombed with flavor. They say men cannot have multiple orgasms, they clearly have not had steak at the JW Steakhouse in the grosvenor hotel. The cheesecake was my dessert. The best I've ever had. Topped with sour cream and with a graham cracker crust, it is so good they even sell it in the hotel gift-shop. Wish I had an extra pair of hands so I could give the jw four thumbs up!

Met friends for drinks here recently - really like the new incarnation - relaxed atmosphere and buzzy with an after work crowd. Cocktails were superb - also tried some of the bar menu food - everything was tasty and beautifully presented - loved the sliders!! We will be back and aiming to grab a table on the terrace for some more cocktails and people watching!

What a great experience. We went for lunch yesterday because my hubbie went to pick uo his suits from nearby on Bond Street. So we agreed to meet out on the Terrace of JW Steakhouse. I think it was the nicest day this year, sun shine and warm and not a cloud in the sky. Because it was so warm neither of us were in the mood for a large steak, so we split an order of Calamari, I had a Caesar Chicken Salad and John had the grilled Tuna with peppercorn, we had mint Juleps with plenty of ice and water. The terrace was packed but the service was fine. It really is a nice place to sit and watch the world go by.

JW Steakhouse is definitely the place to go if you want the finest quality steak in London.

It was a truly a lovely experience from the moment we entered the restaurant, the staff are all very friendly and welcoming and really take you through the menu to find the best option for you. Fantastic location, the décor inside the restaurant is stylish and the bourbon bar very inviting! I had a pre-dinner cocktail of Vodka Mandarin Thyme, so perfectly refreshing. The fillet mignon steak was my choice, can’t beat it with Lobster and béarnaise topping, it was divine. Cooked exactly how I like it as per the waiter’s recommendation.

Dessert was an experience not to miss. Graham cracker cheesecake shared between 4 people was a treat with the bourbon coffee to end a fantastic evening of delicious food. Perfect for any day as well as a good place to celebrate a special occasion.

I loved this restaurant! It had the right mix of great food, cool music and relaxed but professional service. My steak was cooked to perfection and I sampled some great sides - the sweet potatoe mash with marshmallow topping was delicious! One of my friends is a vegetarian and commented on what a great selection of dishes that she had to also chose from. We shared a cheescake for dessert which was one of the best that I have tasted - the portion is very big so definitely one to share. Overall a great experience.

From start to finish, everything about our visit to the JW Steakhouse at the Marriott Grosvenor House was perfect. We started in the Bourbon Bar which had a superb choice of cocktails, not all with Bourbon though! The friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable staff, the choice of drinks and cocktails superb. The overall atmosphere was great, music, surroundings were spot on. This was my first visit of many, now planning our next visit.

The wait staff were very polite and had helpful suggestions. My NY strip was fantastic to say the least. The gram base cheesecake was just like New York's, great! Very good Bourbon Bar, cool music and lively atmosphere, definitely come back.

Loved it! I went to the JW Steakhouse with work colleagues on a week night. We first stopped at the bar and had some cocktails and the best popcorn ever! Then, we went to our table and had a look at the menu; the waitress was really great at helping us choose the right cuts. I ended up with two Flintstones-like ribs and had a selection of sides to share. But I am glad I saved some space for dessert because the cheesecake was truly amazing! I am definitely going back for my birthday.

Yummy; was at the steakhouse last night with a couple of girlfriends and had a really lovely time! We were not expecting it to be as busy as it was as it was only Wednesday so were pleasantly surprised. The music was really cool and added to the overall atmosphere. I had one of the best cocktails ever and the food was lovely! Good, honest comfort food which left us all stuffed :-)
I lost one of my earings when I was there and the waiting team almost turned the restuarant upside down in order to find it.
All in all, a really good surprise and definitely my new favourite place to go for a really good steak which is rare in town.

Went to the JW steakhouse last night with 5 friends and was pleasantly surprised, it does not feel like you are in a hotel restaurant at all! Service was casual (in the right way!) friendly and efficient, and the food freshly prepared and very tasty. The good thing about a group of 5 is that you get to taste everyones!! the portions are geneous so would definately recommend sharing the starters, fried calamari and humous ***** The sides are excellent and tasty. Sweet potatoe, bourbon and cinnamon with marshmallows on top - well it just had to be tried! very tasty and an interesting change to go with steak. Cheese cake for desert was the best I ever had and the portion big enough for a family of 4!! Will definately go back and take more friends but recommend they don't eat for a week before we go!

Went here with the family on Saturday night and really loved it. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable and made a big fuss of the children. The steaks are WOW! My husband took the Tomahawk, a signature dish - it was huge, but he had to finish it. There is a big blackboard with all the steaks and specials on. Lovely salads and sides - especially the doubled baked potato. Save room for desserts, yummy bread pudding with bourbon sauce. You don't have to eat in the restaurant, there are great cocktails and snacks in the bar area. I recommend the wild berry mojitos. We will be back again.

Ate at the newly opened J W Steak last week. Met a friend for cocktails (which are heavenly) and ended up staying for dinner. This is a great restaurant, both food and wine were excellent which you expect in a 5 star hotel, what you dont usually get is the great vibe that this restaurant has. The staff and particularly the manager, are really friendly, informed and attentive without being over the top. As for the desserts.... the cheesecake is the BEST, and did I mention those cocktails?

we got stuck in London overnight due to the volcanic Ash as we were meant to fly out to Spain. My husband said we might as well make the most of it and go to the theatre and have a slap up dinner.
Oddly enough the clerk at our hotel recommended the JW Steakhouse which just opened up in another hotel, the Grosvenor.
The food was delicious, our waitress was charming and knowledgeable, even helped us choose the vegetables so that we did not over order. I had a small fillet steak which was cooked just as I asked and my husband had a rib-eye, which he said was to die for, if you go there, be sure to order the spinach and the bread and butter pudding, really really good and big enough to share. Next time we are in London, we will go back for sure.

I went for dinner here on Thursday evening with a good friend and I have to say it was one of the best experiences I've had in a brand new restaurant. The place was pretty busy for first week so there was a great atmosphere especially with the fun music they were playing, I almost wanted to get up a start dancing.

Maitre'd was brilliant and invited us to try a couple of wines they were thinking of putting on the menu which was a nice touch.

If you go there, you have to have the Cheesecake, it is to die for! I think it'll do well.
