I went to this restaurant last night (25/08/10). I have never had such rude and uncaring staff in one place. I went with my partner after we watched a show at the theatre. Earlier that day I rang up the restaurant to confirm my booking and to say we may be 5 minutes late if the show over ran, after asking this was ok the only response from the Maitre D' was "I guess".

As soon as we stepped foot into the restaurant, we were rushed to our table and the first thing anyone said to us was "you need to order your food within the next 5 minutes, the chef's are ready to turn the gas off". Which then lead me to think "If they didn't want us coming at 10 p.m, they should have told me when I booked the table.

We started with half an aromatic duck, which to be honest, wasn't worth the £37. My partner then had the Ostrich with 3 chillies, which did have a nice taste. I had the sirloin with black pepper, which was pretty much just chunks of meat on a plate. At one point of the meal, my partner picked up a bowl with rice in, started serving herself to which half way through, a waiter snatched it out of her hands and did it himself, people may think that is just nice manners, but I think I'm capable of spooning rice onto a plate, and wouldn't like it if some started doing it when I've started myself.

The whole meal (well the 30 minutes we were there for) the staff didn't communicate with us or take any notice of us. The Maitre D' barged past me without an apology, he probably didn't even think I existed.

The only time they seemed interested is when I got my wallet out to pay the bill. I don't know how the restaurant received a michelin star. The service was terrible, disgustingly rude staff and medioca food. If you want to go for a nice chinese, I'm sure you'll find a nicer place in London for half the price! If its a michelin star, or has a high reputation, they should always be on their best service, whether its 5 hours or 5 minutes before closing. Give it second

Kai is the only place I know where you can get stag penis soup. No, really. I didn't have the balls to try it myself (it was £30!) but should viagra not be working for you Kai is worth a shot (fna fanr).

The place is a disaster! I don' know what the this whole fuss about that place.

The food is just okay, but I don't have a clue why everything has to be so pricey, when the quality of food and service is or even below average.

The way things are organized on that place is just a mess. We had a waiter who ran the whole floor with the manager and that was it.

We got seated in the bar for an hour and a half by a mean woman. Whenever we asked her to do something about US, she just went away and started to do something else.

She was rude from the very first second we got in the restaurant and spoiled the evening right at the start. She was the head waitress or something. Think about the rest of the staff then if she is the leader.

I don't even want to mention that the wine and beverage service was so slow as well. Sometimes even I forgot the thing that I ordered since it took that long to get even a freaking coke.

We got seated right next to the kitchen and the noise just made the whole evening horrible.

Special note on the rest of the customers, who are nothing but just a buncha show offs, trying to impress each others eating a cuisine that they have not got a clue about.

The whole atmosphere made you feel like you were living in a communist village somewhere in China. If you like Chinese, better just do takeaway straight. I don't recommend the place to anyone...
