Last Friday, I celebrated my 24th birthday at Kaslik to highly recommend Kaslik for anyone who wishes to engulf themselves into the mystique of Lebanon and its culture. The manager at Kaslik has the most congenial nature while maintaining the upmost professionalism. To discover the restaurant, Kaslik is comparable to finding an oasis in the desert with the location in Soho ideal for any persons seeking to enjoy authentic Lebanese food amid the expensive and competitive business of North African cuisines in central London. My private birthday party was held below the main dining area in the basement which is decorated in the design of an Arabian tent palace replete with cushions and stools for added comfort and effect. The belly dancer requested for my party surely transfixed all guests with her performance to ask me – ‘the birthday girl’ to join her where I attempted to showcase my own original moves until I gave her the center stage again. Neither I nor my any of my party guests had any complaints with the reasonable prices (22 gbp set menu price), clean venue including restrooms and pleasant staff exceeding all of our desired needs. One of my friends commented, “this has been the best birthday party I have attended all year” – I know this compliment was greatly enhanced by the services rendered at Kaslik. Overall, the atmosphere of Kaslik provides all visitors or frequent customers a memorable experience whether it is lunch before heading back to work or hosting your 24th birthday party. - Tamaria J.
My wife and I arrived at around 20.30, as soon as I sat down I felt something slippery under my shoe it was some leftovers probably from the customer before us, I asked the none smiley manager to clean nicely while I was gone to the toilet, I came back the food was gone but the floor was still greasy and slippery so I had to finish the cleaning myself.
We made our order with the none smiley manager, it came about 40 minutes later for 4 mezze only and 1 of them was wrong, I called the none smiley waiter about it and he didn’t understand what I was saying. Then we had to call the none smiley manager which came and argued about our order accusing us that we made the wrong order and left us with an attitude, that was the turning point for us, eventually he brought us the right mezze.
It was our 4th time in this place and I must say that we always enjoyed and we always ordered the same things, every time we came we had free olives as a starter, but this time there was nothing, then we noticed that some tables had another nothing, we had plenty of time to look at all the details while we were waiting.
We were there for about an hour and a half mostly waiting for the food, the staff was not friendly at all and not a single smile on their faces, keep going smoking, poor service then it was a complete mess some customers were coming before others and being served last.
Bottom line, we will never go again.
I went to Kaslik for my 21st birthday with a group of friends and it was the most unbelievably disappointing restaurant experience of my life. I had booked 3 weeks in advance. First of all I found out that I couldn't have the area I originally wanted then later on they told me that I couldn't even have the time I'd booked originally which was 9pm and moved us to 8.30pm. This was a bit disappointing but I didn't take it badly. I'd called several times to confirm and had even gone there in person to make sure everything was ok. On the night my friends and I arrived on time and were told by an extremely rude manager that he had tried to call me all day, and when I told him I had not received any calls, he realized that a member of his staff had written down a wrong number. So because he hadn't got through to me, he had simply double booked. I was in great distress as I knew that we were not going to find anywhere else on friday night for such a large group. The manager knew this all too well and wasn't in the least apologetic about the situation and refused to admit that he had done something completely unacceptable. When I told him that he needed to come up with a better solution than just make us wait (outside) his answer was well I can just tell you to go somewhere else. He then told us to leave the restaurant as we were blocking up the space and promised to call in half an hour by the time he said he would have cleared a table. He never called, so I went to see what was happening, he again with an extremely rude attitude just said we need to wait more. He ended up making us wait for an hour and a half!! And even then not everyone could be properly seated. He did not once make an apology or offer any compensation. When we eventually sat down to eat, he completely abandoned our table leaving it up to one waiter to single handedly serve a table of 15 people. I have never been subjected to such poor service in my life and the manager does not deserve his job.
It looks to me as if there was one very pissed off customer who posted multiple bad reviews below as there are the same spelling mistakes in several reviews!Anyway, in defence to Kaslik, we went there last night for my wife's birthday (a small party of five) and had an absolutely fantastic evening! We sat upstairs in the corner table by the till which was very cosy (NOT CRAMPED) and we were not in the way of the waiters at any part of the evening just because we were by the till. The food was excellent and couldn't be faulted, very tasty and ample portions. I take off one star, only because the selection of cocktails for November had a "mint" theme and as my wife doesn't like mint there was nothing I could order as a birthday drink. Any restaurant should really cater for a wider taste. The cocktails for December will have a different taste theme no doubt. There's nothing I dislike more than eating in a restaurant and being hassled by the waiters to order more and more stuff or being asked every two minutes if everything is ok. The Kaslik waiters were very friendly and attentive and not once did we feel as if we had to hurry our meal or hurry to order. We were left to enjoy the evening but as soon as somebody needed something there was always a waiter willing to get whatever we needed. The waiters were not arrogant in the slightest as has been said below! The music was turned up once in the evening for the belly dancer and yes it was loud and yes it wasn't the best quality hi fi but seriously, if you're going to pick fault at what only adds character to the restaurant then what are you doing there?! Go to a pub! Don't give a place a bad review because you don't understand other cultures! All in all it was a really really good relaxed evening and we'll be going there again.
I was very nervous about going to Kaslik after reading these reviews and I was pleasantly suprised - so much so that I wonder wether these reviewers and I actually went to the same place!!
We were in the private room downstairs for a birthday dinner. there were approx 25 of us. We had a great night. The food, wine and service were all outstanding. They cater well for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. The belly dancers was gorgeous and could definately dance up a storm. She was great. The wine flowed, the waiters were very attentive and pleasant. We had a great night in the private room and i would highly recommend it for food, service, price and atmosphere. A great night all round.
I was invited to a group outing and unfortunately we chose this Kaslik. The waiter was rude and at times just non responsive. The seating arrangement is awkard and uncomfortable.
When I asked the waiter if he could adjust the unoccupied table next to our party, he completely ignored our requestes. And when we called the manager, his response was What can I do? which is not good for someone who makes a living on tips.
Unless you want bad service for an expensive meal do not go to Kaslik.

I would never set foot in Kaslik ever again! I went there for a work leaving do on a Friday in February and we had been led to believe it was a bar/restaurant, but from the moment we got there we were harassed by the obnoxious manager who complained we had booked a table for 15 people when in fact we had reserved an area for 10-15 people.
After a while we were informed that on a weekend Kaslik is a restaurant and everyone would have to order the set menu when we wanted to drink and order food if and when people wanted it. In the end we agreed to drink up and leave as they couldn't accommodate our needs. After that they turned into the rudest people ever, the free snacks they'd provided were hastily taken away and anytime someone moved, the manager was opening the door in an effort to turf us out.
If you are considering going to Kaslik I urge you not to, on the principle that restaurants like this, which treat customers so badly, do not deserve to stay in business. Kaslik is easily the worst place I've ever been.
I agree 100 per cent with the latest review for Kaslik. I went there with a group of friends last week. I ordered the mixed grill, I've never seen a mixed grill that was so awful, the salad was full of onion and chilli, I would expect better from a workman's cafe.
My friend chose the stuffed vine leaves, they seemed as though they were straight from a tin and could be purchased from any Greek or Lebanese food supplier. The prices are very unreasonable for the quality of the food.
There wasn't a trace of a belly dancer at Kaslik and when I asked the manager about the belly dancer he seemed very vague and didn't seem to know there should have been a belly dancer. I, for one, will not be making a return visit to sample this bad experience.
We visited Kaslik on New Year's Eve and were pleasantly surprised. There was no belly dancer, but the food was fun and the hubbly bubbly was a nice touch too.
A bottle of reasonable wine and more food than we could manage came at a reasonable price. Just looking for an excuse to go back to Kaslik now.
What a let down we had at Kaslik. I went there with my parents when they visited me two weeks ago. The food was not fresh. My guess is that it is all from tins.
The service was slow and sloppy, in fact, the whole evening was a disaster from start to finish.
Kaslik is very small and smokey. We were looking forward to the belly-dancer, who was not there. I feel that they try to attract people by giving false information.
Kaslik is brilliant for veggies and meat eaters alike. Wonderful atmosphere and we had a bellydancer to entertain us on the night we went. This is a must!
If I had my own restaurant it’d be like Kaslik. Ok, it’s not The Ritz, but part of eating out is having a spot of banter with the staff and chowing down without feeling like you’re being judged on your manners. Kaslik offers just that.
Kaslik has a very romantic feel and great ambience. Reasonably priced food. Small but cosy restaurant with throw cushions and cosy couches.
