My wife and I both thought the food was excellent, especially the desert. However, the service was rather aloof and very unattentive. Some people got bread, others didn't and we could here comlaints from other diners all of which were service related.

We ate at Kensington Place on 14th December 2005. The food was very good. The restaurant was overcrowded, noisy beyond belief, and filled with smoke. The waiting staff were oblivious to what was going on.

Whilst the food at Kensington Place was good, to pay almost £180 for three people who drank moderately and ate only a starter and main course, there would have to be less crowding, smoke, and noise for me to come back.

I have known Kensington Place restaurant for the past 18 years. Most of the time the food is outstanding. However, last night (17/12/2005) was a very, very big disappointment.

The fish was dry and overcooked, the food had absolutely no taste. Our friends from Paris also know Kensington Place restaurant very well and were equally disappointed. We feel we'll think twice now before returning.

Who was the chef that night? Paying close to £300 and having bad food left a very bitter taste in my mouth. Their Tarte Tatin was disgusting. Go and eat in Paris for one third of the price and the food is so much better.
