This restaurant was truly amazing. I had to take a group from work of 28 for a meal somewhere in Kings Cross and reviews were almost all good for this place so I decided to try it. And I was not disappointed! The decor here is beautiful - it really separates the place from the streets outside.
The set menu was amazing (and for what you get I guess the price is expected) and very diverse - the pigeon was scrumptious for starter, the lamb very tenderly cooked and having barley with it was a first, and a very nice treat at that. I'm only sorry I didn't get a chance to taste the desert menu - esp the blueberry ice cream . The presentation of the food was very artistic and it was quite unusually fun to have the kitchen situated in the main seating area.
Only problem was finding the place as its not that easy to spot or get to. One taxi couldn't find it that evening and so one guest unfortunately missed a treat!
My boyfriend and I ate at Konstam at The Prince Albert last Friday night and it was a perfectly wonderful experience.
He started with a fresh cod and raw beetroot salad, admittedly not ingredients one normally thinks of together, but the combination was fresh, light and utterly delicious. I started with the goats cheese and nettle pirogui - yum! This can often be a really rich, heavy dish but at Konstam it was light and flavourful. We followed up with mutton in caper sauce (perfectly executed) and char-grilled pork chop (very tasty).
The portions were very generous, making for a great value meal and the atmosphere is both funky and intimate. The service was brilliantly attentive and knowledgable. I know there has been a lot of hype around the local sourcing, but to me that's not the main draw. Konstam at the Prince Albert is an excellent restaurant. Book now before you can't get in!
Four of us ate at Konstam at the Prince Albert this week and we loved it. The decor is great - really clever and attractive - and the staff welcoming, good humoured and helpful plus the food is interesting and delicious. I'd recommend that vegetarians ask for extra veg - you'll be well pleased. I did and it was plentiful and unusual (not the usual spinach or stick beans). The wine was good value too.
Good luck to Oliver for his commitment to minimising food miles and hurray for the wheelchair toilet (Konstam at the Prince Albert is very accessible: like me, Oliver's mum uses a wheelchair). I do know Oliver and his family, but I'd be this enthusiastic even if I didn't!
I just ate at Konstam at the Prince Albert and it was a fantastic evening. The decor is otherwordly and transforms a pleasant gastropub into a dreamscape. The food is very creative too - do not be fooled by the London sourcing - the food is high end gastropub with a creative tinge.
I wasn't bold enough to try the Nettle Peirogi but the Coq au Vin was succulent and rich. The English wine is, well, much better than expected...Konstam at The Prince Albert is recommended.
I just had dinner at Konstam at the Prince Albert and I have to say, it was amazing! From the buzzing atmosphere to the friendly waiting staff and chefs and, of course, the food - which was divine. Konstam is an absolute treat for a great price!
Our entire group enjoyed the meal, each of us trying one of the different offerings from within the M25 - one of our party immediately booked a table for next weekend! I can't wait to go to Konstam again.
