A look at the menu from outside looked promising. After terrible service, my pizza arrived. For an Italian restaurant, this was definitely very cheaply made with what I would only describe as the poorest quality of ingredients. Also £3 for a glass of what tasted like lidl's own brand carton orange juice, which by the way was not chilled, nor was ice provided.

The atmosphere was terrible, I have never been in a restaurant where the atmosphere was so dead, only thing that was missing was tumble weed.

The decor of the restaurant was also dated and the floor was also dirty.

Overall, the experience was terrible; food and atmosphere were both horrid, to put the cherry on the icing, I parted with around £40 for two, which is terribly expensive, compared to what I had received.

NEVER AGAIN!

Myself and my girlfriend had a fabolous meal here last night prior to watching the Lion King at the Lyceum theatre. It was very busy and has a great location. The staff could not have been more helpful for us and making us feel so welcome and at home. We both pizza which was very nice and the wine was great too, all for good value as well. A very pleasing choice and we would happily go again.

My friend and I had a lovely time here last Saturday. The doorman made us laugh & the staff were friendly! The food was just great. I had a steak done just as I had asked & my friend enjoyed her fabulous fish dish! Just perfect to go straight onto the theatre. I will definitely eat here again on my next trip to London & I have highly recommended it to my friends coming over from New York. Julia & Alexandra.

Located right by the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden this is a little gem of a restaurant! Good quality food at very reasonable prices made for a great evening. The staff were warm and friendly and the atmosphere was very nice.

The decor is a little dated but adds to the ambiance - I'd rather have time spent on getting the food and service right before worrying about the decor! Regardless, this is a very welcoming restaurant serving properly cooked Italian food by Italian people, the Italian way - the pasta was Al Dente and sauces were amazing. My wife's Julienne vegetables were wonderful and we will certainly be re-visiting soon with friends.

Overall, good quality food, fair prices (for the area) and warm friendly staff makes for a great eating out experience and one that come highly recommended!

La Ballerina is quite possibly the worst London restaurant I have eaten in for many years - and is entirely trading on its location (next to the Royal Opera House) as I cannot imagine there is any repeat custom. It is not expensive but for what we paid - eg £15 for a swordfish main course and £10 for a half bottle of frascati - you have a right to expect decent food. Our meal at La Ballerina started badly with bread so dry it was inedible, then got worse with a tepid, tasteless lump of white fish with a sprinkling of parsley and what tasted like engine oil that claimed to be spade in salmoriglio - quite shocking. This had vegetable accompaniments that were among the meanest and unappetising that I have ever seen - two tiny overboiled potatoes and three thin slices of cold courgettes in congealing tomato sauce. All this and my companion had a very poor pasta dish that claimed to be stuffed with ricotta but seemed to be full of spray can cream and burnt tomato sauce. We didn't stop for dessert or coffee obviously. Thank God the opera was so good - La Ballerina's just for the tourists.

I ate in La Ballerina last night with a friend and enjoyed a perfect sirloin steak brough as requested (rare) with well served al-dente vegetables full of flavour - and my friends sole left the bone perfectly firm - we started with some pasta also slightly al-dente (just right) with a sweet tomatoe sauce and basil to which we added a little tobasco - it was lovely - we had some chianti and a little dolcelatte with perfectly fresh bread - and the meal was just lovely and I shall certainly return - The above review given by Bhanu Koria which I think is a fictious name, I believe has been given maliciously - I have no reservation in recommending tis restaurant.
