Oh gosh Le Bouchon Breton is an amazing restaurant for dinner. We(me and my girlfriend) went there last night and it was amazing. We had 3 couses meal, starters 12snails and onion soup (really french dishes), and main course was a beautiful tasty chateau briand with fries, salad, cream spinach and sauces, desserts was a amazing 5 pieces of CHEESE... everything was excellent, service fast and friendly, really really attentive. i'm really really be back. 100% recommended

Le Bouchon Breton is a good spot to meet people, close to the Central line. Lunch was glasses of white wine, Bread, olives and a main course. The Sirloin steaks, Lamb Shank, sea bass and mash potato was much appreciated. A crisp sugar crust of creme brules, no idea what the collective noun might be, Tourte au Chocolat, finshed a very pleasant experience. Excellent service and pleasant staff in an interesting environment make this a place to return to again and again and .....

This was not only my first visit to Le Bouchon Breton, Spitalfields - it was also the worst dining experience I've ever had.

We were faced with one disappointment after another and the whole evening was ridiculous.

Firstly, we had to ask three times before we were served water, eventually receiving it about 40 minutes after we'd sat down. Our wine finally arrived 45 minutes after we had ordered it. The main meal was also late coming, and before our starter too. The meal went back to kitchen and then 10 minutes later we were told our starter still hadn't been cooked so it was best we just ate our main. The staff did apologise at this point and offer us some complimentary wine... which we never saw. Some time later, our steak came back to the table but it was completely cold. Something we begrudgingly put up with because we were now very hungry and fed up, and also because it seemed far too difficult to get the attention of their neglectful staff. Feels good to pay a lot of money for cold meat and chips.

The final insult was being compensated by one free dessert. Six pounds profiteroles hardly sweetened the whole absurd experience of Le Bouchon Breton.

It was a shame this happened, this was a special treat for my friend and I, and we had been looking forward to the evening. What else is a shame is that we were initially excited by the restaurant and its menu - I remember thinking I would definitely come back, but that is now unlikely.

We were made to feel invisible, and even my later attempts to express my disappointment to this restaurant have been completely ignored.

A mouse. Seriously. The waiter seemed completely unconcerned. As did the mouse. I think they new each other.

Fortunately we only saw this at the end of our meal. Oysters were very good, hence the extra star; a lot of the other seafood was not very fresh.

Oops, "knew each other," that should have been. Why can't I edit my own review?

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant on a complete punt and based on wanting somewhere close to Liverpool Street station.

Very glad we did as the restaurant was very accommodating and service was fantastic.

It wasn't very busy however but even as people came along later on in the evening the level of service didn't drop.

We pushed the boat out as we were celebrating and every course was great and very filling which is sometimes a worry with french restaurants.

My boyfriend had the cheese platter and although he only ordered for 5 the waiter gave him a couple more as extras based on the type of cheeses he liked and for the fact there was no Roquefort.

Well recommended would also like to revisit during the week for a more party atmosphere.

I work just around the corner and have popped in for croissants a couple of times and dinner at the end of last week and I have to say it is very good - and really reasonably priced. I'm not on a Champagne budget and even I could afford it. Makes a change from a Brick Lane cuzza. I'd recommend the steak and chips.
