Nestled in the old part of Mayfair, Le Boudin Blanc is one of the capital’s hidden French culinary treasures. It’s the perfect spot for a romantic, candlelit dinner a la francaise.

The Venue
At Le Boudin Blanc, Green Park meets Saint-Germain-des-Pres. Located at the end of the Shepherd Market, this elegant French bistro features a warm, lively ambiance. The rustic decor is simple and cosy, with wooden floors, green paint and a display of wine bottles that won’t fail to seduce Francophiles. This venue also includes two private rooms, ideal for lunch or dinner parties, and a downstairs wine cellar.

The Atmosphere
From smart businessmen to a more bohemian, avant-garde clientele, Le Boudin Blanc is a crossroads for eclectic crowds. This place makes you feel like wearing a black Parisian beret and flipping through the pages of Baudelaire’s Les Fleurs du mal whilst sipping a glass of Pouilly-Fume. And for those who are lucky enough to master the tricks of the French language, feel free to practice with the staff – they are virtually all French. The service itself is impeccable, the staff are helpful and very friendly.

The Food
Make sure that you don’t spoil your appetite before dinner, because Le Boudin Blanc serves a variety of thoughtfully presented, authentic French dishes. You could start with the creamy wild mushroom and truffle risotto with Parmesan shavings, which melts instantly in your mouth. And for the piece de resistance, the tender, buttery sole meuniere is one of the highlights of the menu. For dessert, the creme brulee has a caramelized crust and a subtle vanilla flavour. A three course meal at Le Boudin Blanc comes to about £30 to £40 per person.

The Drink
The venue boasts a comprehensive list of wines and liquors. Although the bill can escalate easily, from a £28 bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to a £230 bottle of Chateau Angelus, with over 350 wines on the list you should be able to find something to suit your budget.

The Last Word
The food, the drinks and the service speak for themselves. This restaurant makes you want to sing La Vie en rose.
