Perfect setting, good food and timeless appeal. An excellent restaurant in many ways however the front of house/waiting staff really let the establishment down. They can be rude and slow which is not acceptable in this type of restaurant (not that it should be acceptable in any restaurant!). I notice that most of these reviews make similar comments about the poor staff so I do hope the management will take notice and do something about it.

Was privileged to be allowed to eat at Caprice this evening - service at table was very professional, food however was disappointing and i will not be returning. As an aside it does now seem to be an essential part of the West End London restaurant experience that one is condescended to at least once by an East European maitre d.

Thank you

K

Just had dinner this evening (1/2/10). Waited 1 hour between starter and main course, no apology, puerile excuses and no recompense offered. Not remotely good enough for a restaurant with its reputation. Memo to staff-must try harder -there is serious competition out there and we will not be returning!

Totally overrated! Not expecting too much, my fiancé and I booked a taple 2 months in advance to have a nice dinner out - only to be very disappointed. To make it short: It's average in all respects, not more. The atmosphere is not exciting at all. Waiters are rushing to take orders, we didnt feel ready when they approached us for the third time. Food was ok, but nothing spectacular - we had the chateaubriand; it was not easy to chew.

The staff was pretty arrogant at the end, when we were paying our bill; their credit card machine didn't work and they were blaming us for not having a valid card. We have been to much nicer, cheaper, higher quality restaurants in London - definitely, Le Caprice is not recommended. Look for something less "famous" - you will most probably find better quality.

Le Caprice does very good food, with wonderful service which is not intrusive, but friendly and prompt without being rushed. It is not particularly expensive either.

It is such good value, and worth every single penny, I would happily pay double. I have never had a bad experience at Le Caprice and I've been a fair amount over the years and hope to continue for many to come!

Le Caprice is my favourite restaurant. I love the attention, the ambience, the staff and of course the splendid food.

The warm duck salad at Le Caprice is too good to be true. The salmon fishcake has to be the best ever. I would eat there five days a week if I had my way. It really is simply the best!

Le Caprice is the best restaurant in England in my opinion. I have been going to Le Caprice for many years and I am always greeted like an old friend. Jesus annd all his staff are absolutely the best. Le Caprice does not need any furthe recommendation, just make sure you go if you can get a table

We went to Le Caprice to celebrate my friends 40th Birthday.
We were made to feel special from the start, the food and service was excellent and I would recommend this restaurant to my friends.
Will definitely come back.

i have been going to the Caprice for well over 20 years . it used to be my favourite restaurant and i could still get a table at five minutes notice if i wanted to, however i have decided that it is well and truly over as a quality restaurant from my last experiences and i dont think that i will be going there again. When Chris and Jeremy left it changed but with Jesus or Nick at the helm it was still good. Now with Richard Carling as the new owner i think that the quality has gone right off.
