Nice venu in nice location, good atmosphere , food was good ,service was friendly , the mains do not come with any sides which are avalible but for signifcant extra cost the service charge is 12.5 % which is high.
Overall it was good :)!!
We had a taste of london card which entitled us to 50% off the food so it was £22 per person for the food with the discount and we got a house bottle of wine for £16. We had a starter to share which was the crab- accompanied by inedible seaweed and a tasty garlic dip. I had scallops and my boyfriend had the salmon dish which were both delicious and perfectly cooked. However, the salmon gave with the equivalent of 1 and a 1/2 small new potatoes and my scallops approx a tbs of rice- both delicious and we did order sides of veg and a salad but we were left still very hungry! Therefore we decided to have a dessert which I always find disappointing especially when theyre not homemade however since I was so hungry I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Creme Brulee Maison but it was terrible. The caramel on top was fine but the texture was completely wrong and instead of a custard type consistency it just tasted and looked like over-whipped cream! My boyfriend got the orange pancakes which were too strongly flavoured of orange and I think should have had icecream to accompany it- for £6 overpriced.
Terrible service and very mediocre food. The only reason it is popular is because there are very few alternatives in the area. They are short staffed and you'll be in for a long wait....
Not worth the effort
Went here last night for a birthday meal with my girlfriend and came away feeling robbed! We have just moved to the area so really hoped it would be a nice restaurant that we could visit often. However, the food and service is mediocre at best. Steak overcooked and the lamb came with a sauce that tasted like bisto gravy. The wine was fine. But having paid almost £50 a head the food and level of service (12.5% gratuity automatically added to the bill) did not even come close to our expectations. The first and last time we will be eating here!
I adore this place! This has to serve the best sea food this side of the channel!
A lovely friendly restaurant, fun yet chic atmosphere. A touch of glam on Abbeville Road.
There's nothing quite like having a drink on the sunny terrace, then when it's colder in the evening, enjoying another under the heat lamp, giggling over a cigarette before dessert arrives!
Such was our long dinner. The toffee pudding was a real treat, just as good as mother used to make.
"Salad Gourmand" was ab fab, then sardines to remind me of the Med while my friend had a Whole seabass (usually restaurants serve small fillets!).
We loved it. The music was nice and the waitress was kind enough to write down the names of the singers and albums that we liked.
I gave it 5 stars because we had such a good time. Must visit again soon!
I went to Le Chadron for the second time on Sunday and I am sorry to report that there was a dog in the restaurant. Our table was right next to it!. We asked to move but durng the course of the meal we could hear the dog barking. I looked up the regulations and there are no laws banning dogs from restaurants it up to the owner to allow or ban them. This is not anti dog this is a case of basic hygiene added to the fact that my brother-in-law is allergic to dog hairs and close proximity causes him breathing difficulties. I will not eat at any restruant that allows dogs so the choice is yours.
A little gem in Abbeville Rd. Food was very tasty and presented in a lovely way. Service was excellent, something rare in London. The deco and the overall atmosphere was perfect. Even the toilettes were way above the standard. And then again, excellent price. Outstanding value for money. If you are in the area, don't miss it. A great place to go with friends, a family meal or with your partner.
I think that this is a wonderful place to dine weather it be for a gruop dinner or intimate lunch, they have what you need.
My sister and I stumbled upon this place on a lovely sunday afternoon and was pleasently surpised to find that you could have such a nice 3 course lunch for all of £12.95 per person.
The service was 10/10 even though it was the waitress' 1st day!
The food was brilliant - served just how you like it not the chef!
I would recommend Le Chardon's to evrybody ifyou are looking for good food at affordale prices.
10/10 thumbs up, we are going back again on Sunday!
Laney!
