My boyfriend and I went to Le Pont de la Tour last night for dinner and were extremely disappointed. We ate in the main restaurant which has a three course set menu for £44.50. As it was a bit late, we decided to only each have a main course which we were told we were allowed to do and would be charge £26 each. We were fine with it. We each had a glass of wine which was lovely. The service on the other hand could use improvement. For the prices they charge you would think they could hire a bit more staff. At the end of the meal we decided to order a small cheese platter to share. It took a very long time to get the attention of the staff and when we finally managed to put in our order, it took even longer for the cheese to arrive. When it finally did I wish I could say it was worth the wait but it definitely was not. One of the worse cheese platter presentations I have ever seen. We ordered a selection of cheeses but the portions were very tiny and the presentation was disappointing. A few small pieces of cheese, 6 grapes, 5 crackers and that's it. To make it worse, when the bill came we were charged £20.50 for this cheese platter. So in the end our bill came to be over £120. We go out for dinner a lot but even for us that seemed a bit extortionate considering how little we ate and drank. Our main courses were nice but still don't think it justifies the price. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone and will not be going back.

Went here for our 2nd Anniversary and couldn't have asked for more.
Sat at the bar while we had our cocktails, both well made classics, and took in the piano player in the background. Everything was made to perfection; my stone bass was amazing and the other half tucked in to her grouse and hardly came up for air until it was all gone. The waiter, who found out we were celebrating, brought us a fantastic over-sized cup cake with a candle, this was just one of the few little touches that made our night.
Thanks to every one there - we'll be back in the summer to sit outside

Very efficient, easy on-line booking. Requested quiet table for two overlooking the river and got exactly that. Food and wine were equally excellent. Wine list had something to suit all pockets. Service was the best and most professional we have ever experienced, nothing was rushed and each waiter came and went almost soundlessly with his course. Our drinks were topped up all evening, sometime without us even realizing it. Decor was luxurious, with starched white linen tableware and subtle lighting. We felt really special without feeling uncomfortable. We definitely recommend this restaurant and will be returning again ourselves in the Autumn. (Mr & Mrs Grimes, Stockport)

We had an interesting experience at Le Pont de la Tour the other day. We visited for my fiance's birthday and it is a super formal place (good we went there with formal wear). Food and drinks are all pricey but absolutely tasty which gives the feeling that you are eating in a expensive place! If you are looking for a very formal and a bit pricey restaurant, this is definitely the place. But I am not quite sure if we will be back again because I like more not too casual but comfortable places like maza Gordon Ramsay, or Cantina Del Ponte (which also locates at Shad Thames).

My husband and I visited Le Pont de la Tour on Sunday evening for our wedding anniversary.

We thought the menu looked good and reasonably priced for treat in London.

However, even though the main restaurant has half empty we were asked to wait 10-15 minutes for a table, which in fact turned out to be 25 minutes.

Once we eventually got seated, we ordered a beer and a half bottle of wine. The beer turned up straight away but the wine did not turn up for half an hour.

We were offered one slice of bread in the half an hour that we sat at the table.

In the end we had to chase the waiter for our starters which when he brought over went all over the table.

In the end we walked out. Clearly this is a very pretentious restaurant, with too many staff not knowing what the other is doing.

I don't think we've been to a restaurant before where we in a whole hour we've only eaten one slice of bread.

Awful service and a terrible experience.

I went to Le Pont de la Tour for my birthday last week. It was recommended to me by my boss, and I have to say I was impressed with the food, wine, location and service. Definitely worth a try, and I would most definitely go back again.

Went to Le Pont de la Tour last night for a birthday meal and was very impressed. The service was by far the best I have experienced in London for a long time and the food was truly delicious.

We sat outside on the terrace with direct views of Tower Bridge and the live pianist really helped to make the night extra special. Would definitely recommend the fish and steak at Le Pont de la Tour. It's not as expensive as I thought it would be and on Sundays and the beginning of the week wine and champagne are at wine shop prices which makes it a perfect way to end the weekend or start the week.
