Lemonia is one of the most sought after Greek restaurants in London and proves its popularity by always being full.

The Venue
In the heart of Primrose Hill, Lemonia is located in one of the most aesthetically pleasing streets in Hampstead – full of art galleries, cafes and delicatessens. Lemonia is very attractively fitted with wooden seats decorated in a stencilled motif of a lemon – the emblem of the restaurant. One bonus at this restaurant is the conservatory at the back of the main seating area, which is decorated with flowers. There is also a private dining room available for lunch and dinner.

The Atmosphere
Lively and bustling is the name of the game, and the energetic waiters are always rushed off their feet. It may not be the best restaurant for conversation because of the noise level, but you are guaranteed to have fun because the atmosphere is lively and stimulating.

The Food
This is authentic Greek Cypriot food at its best. The selection of charcoal grills is particularly tempting. Try dishes such as the lamb shashlik - cubes of lamb marinated and grilled on a skewer with fresh vegetables. One of the most important elements of good Greek cuisine is meze, meaning a selection of starters, and the chef creates traditional meze just as well as he creates everything else on the menu. However, the selection on the menu isn't quite as large as at other Greek restaurants.

Lemonia is also good news for vegetarians as vegetable dishes are abudant and healthy eating is guaranteed. Choices include food such as black eyed beans cooked with fresh spinach, olive oil and lemon juice, stuffed vegetables with spices.

The Drink
The wine list is very impressive because it boasts selections from all corners of the globe with a wide variety of wines coming from Greece.

The Last Word
Wherever you live in London, Lemonia is worth knowing about not least because of its supremely attractive location in Primrose Hill, which is one of the most picturesque neighbourhoods in the capital.
