Food was very good but very expensive for the amount we got. The waitress wasn't very flexible or helpful & didn't want us to share the mezes. I felt we paid way over the top for the amount of food we received. The wine was very good but expensive. The dessert was just really basic. The decor is fabulous & the belly dancers beautiful. Would go back again if it wasn't so expensive. Poor value for money.
I think Levant is a little bit expensive for what it really Worth, but you have to do it at least one time, the atmosphere is really nice, the belly dancers as well (no surprising in a Lebanese restaurant loll ) what you can do is take for example 3 meal courses for 5 persons to share and it would be OK, the food is tasteful, the only thing i didn't like there, which is a stupid detail, i asked the DJ for a famous song ( Haifa wehbe ft David vendetta) he said he didn't have it.. , was so rude, we left a bill for more than 300 pounds so at least we could have heard one favorite song ... and yes they have to make a small improvement for the music, but was still fun there!
I took some friends to this restaurant for their 40th birthdays - and I have to say, we didn't have the best time. The atmosphere is busy (too busy) with belly dancers, incense, great decor with a loud party feel.
On seating, we were told that we could only order from the preset menu at £40 per head and so we did not really have much of a choice. Secondly, we had 3 vegetarians and 1 meat eater and were initially told we could only have 2 veg and 2 meat set meals - after some debate, they finally allowed us to have 3 veg, 1 meat. For £160, we had a few tasty dishes (meze style) - all fresh and well presented but rather small - moussaka and lamb main dish, again tasty but not hot - a rack of deserts, fruits, nuts and mint tea. We also purchased some wine which was too young and fizzy and asked for this to be changed - the staff seemed rather surprised! At £21 a bottle, I would say I expected a good wine.
Overall, the food is great but grossly over priced and the lack of choice in individual dishes (because they said they were just too busy) is a real con forcing you to spend £40 each. The service is poor, unfriendly and reinforces that this place is set up to make money and not to provide customer value and service - we had to wait nearly 1/2hr to get someones attention to get the bill - shocking! I personally would not recommend this place.
Just awful. Terrible service, the manager especially is clearly in the wrong profession. Good food but offset entirely by the rudeness of its staff. I went in a group and no one of us will ever return. Perfect for tourists or drunks who don't know/don't care what they are treated like--which pretty much reflects the customers populating this place.
I took my boyfriend here on a friends recommendation and we both loved it. The food was brilliant and the service was just as good. I can't wait for our next trip there.
