Fridays are meant to be for fish and so we headed to Livebait spot on twelve one Friday lunchtime. The place was empty and we were given a nice roomy booth. We chose from the Set Menu (2 courses £14.50). Complimentary (but there is a service charge) bread, butter and salmon pate kept us going until the starters of crab cakes and smoked makeral with beetroot and watercress salad. Then the main event: fish and chips with tartare sauce. Excellent, hot, crispy and with no skin or bones in sight (just don't think about the calories!). Service was good and if you in need of a fish and chip fix, this is definately to be recommended - it was packed when we left at 1.30pm.

Livebait is a bit fishy if you ask me. Ha ha. Livebait is a fish restaurant, and that's about it. It serves fish. It's a restaurant. It's not rocket science you know!
