I have just one word for Locale - Balham: Fantastico! I'm Italian and i live a couple of minutes away from the restaurant once known as Ferrari.

I think Locale just ripped off the bad reputation i had for Ferrari. What Locale does is actually real traditional italian food, simple and tasty.Me and my partner had a pizza (well cooked, crispy and not overloaded with toppings) and a seafood linguine (really fresh i could taste).

The service was friendly and the linguine was actually our waiter recommendation, we gave it a try even if i usually eat seafood just close to the seaside to be sure i'm eating fresh fish.we had to wait a bit but it's understandable, because they cook everything from scratch when you order.

My partner really fancy dessert so we shared a "fondante" as house favorite. Really good!I'll definitely go back to try other dishes..

Just returned for what i thought was one of the worst meals i have ever had at a restaurant! not only was the service slow, but the food was appalling.

I then proceeded to find mussels that had off, i thought i was just being fussy, but others tried and I'mmediately spat them out, the smell was unmistakable, they were 100% off therefore decided not to continue with my meal!

what once was my favourite restaurant which had a refurbishment worth 100,000 pounds apparently, which in my opinion was completely wasted, and the money was definite not put towards the quality of the kitchen staff, and i will never visit this restaurant again, and i would not recommend it to anyone.

However the wine was nice!

We've just returned from a fantastic meal at Locale and have to say that we are very impressed.

The Menu was varied, with the usual Italian dishes you'd expect and more, the wine was lovely (may have been luck!!) and the food was beautiful and well presented as well as being tasty!

The service was also very prompt, polite and friendly.

This restaurant is not in the ideal location for catching passing trade but it is definitely worth a visit if you live in or are visiting this area - full marks, will be returning!!!
