three sisters went for a Sunday lunch. I am from France, one sister lives in UK and one in Australia. Someone had recommended it and we booked in advance. helpful emails to confirm the booking. The welcome was good and we all felt the food was the best Italian we had ever eaten. The service was friendly and the ambiance of the place relaxed. We were so impressed we will go next time we are in London

This is a fantastic restaurant, with the best food, set at the best price in Crystal Palace. The fact that it is always busy is testament to how well regarded Lorenzo's is. Do not pay attention to the bad reviews, presumably these are written by proprietors of other restaurants in the locality which are not nearly as good.
We first visited Lorenzo's over 20 years ago, and it's still one of our favourite restaurants in the area. The food is always excellent and reasonably priced, and the staff friendly.
I'm amazed by some of the other reviews on this site - this has not been our experience at all - and the fact that the three floors in the restaurant and invariably full whenever we visit is testament to its popularity.
Overpriced. The drinks are small for the price you pay, the food is mediocre and the service is abysmal. Bolognaise tastes like it comes out of a tin. cheap enough at lunchtime but the standard isn't up to much.
The last time I went I was with a friend who really enjoys Italian food. We were served by an extremely rude waiter who was slow, dumped our drinks down on the table (which spilled and he didn't bother wiping it up), took ages to take our order, and refused to give my friend some parmesan cheese for her pizza. My lasagne was extremely salty and I barely touched it, and my friends pizza only had half the toppings it was to meant to have had. The waiter then took forever to take our plates away and to bring us our bill. He was also very rude when we didn't give him a tip, but what do you expect?
Save yourself the time and bother into going to this place.
just got back from this resturant and i have to say that im not impressed! we went in a group of 13 for a 50th birthday and all of us came out very disapointed. the wrong food was served 4 times, by the time they brought back the correct food the rest of us were finnished and the food was full of oil. all in all a dissapointing night had by all, not worth the money.
