My name is Rhys Thomas. I am a writer and a comedian and I just have to tell you about the hypocrites who run this place. It gets good, trust me....Don't book Lounge Lover I beg you - my wife organised a surprise party for my 30th Birthday - they asked for a £1500 plus VAT deposit plus a minimum spend of a whopping £9,000 , half to be paid up front. She kept ringing us asking 'How many people are coming' when we said we didn't know for sure, she snapped 'Well you should by now!' Come on, any moron knows that you can't say exactly how many people are coming.

When we decided that it was too much money and we couldn't guarantee we'd spend that, we asked if we could cancel it two weeks prior to the event. They said we could, but we wouldn't get our deposit back. Even though we gave them two weeks notice, AND they could still open and get that money from the public, the snooty lady refused, reminding us of the small print in the contract, after 4 weeks, no refund. Damn it. So that was that. No leg to stand on. they couldn't even offer half or some -effectively, they made £1500 for nothing.

Friends really raved about this place and finally made it here. Loungelover did not fail to impress. Got lost trying to find it but the locals seem to know where it is. My friends were spot on about this place. Its so different from anywhere else and has some of the best cocktails i've ever tasted. The combinations are so clever with really equally witty names. The staff are really friendly and charming. Would go back any day.

We went on Saturday and had the best evening ever. It was such a fabulous atmosphere aided by very good background music. The level of the music enabled us to speak without having to shout and losing our voices like in some bars. Even though it was really busy you never ever felt that your were being squashed or pushed to one side. The staff are charming and very helpful. Our party increased at the very last minute and they were very nice about it. They managed to switched things around to fit us in. It is so nice to be in a beautiful venue surrounded by beautiful people and served by such lovely staff. A truly memorable evening and i would like to express my thanks to everyone for making it such a splendid evening..

Simply amazing decor and probably the best cocktails i have ever tasted. Loungelover oozes decadence and style. You can't help but feel great to be in there. I love the setting, down a grimy backstreet and the surprise when you enter pass the glass doors. There is so much drama and imagination here. I can see how this place can intimidate some people. It really helps that the staff are really nice and helpful. It makes such a change to have somewhere so charming ,warm and from the heart, to go to.

We had a reserved a table at Lounge Lover over the weekend. The doorman had an attitude problem, and the management had double-booked our area with another group of people. We chose to ignore these disappointments, and attempted to order some cocktails, only to be faced by a waitress with an attitude problem. We left, went to another bar, where we spent our money and our precious free time with the rest of our friends. Lounge Lover used to be fantastic but it appears to have gone down the attitude-gutter. Not sure for how long the eclectic decor will continue to attract people. There are so many other bars that have equally unusual decor. So stay away from Lounge Lover unless you have time and money to waste.

I was in from New York for the weekend and had a reservation at Loungelover. It was a complete disappointment. The establishment lost our reservation, the doorman was a pompous oaf, the waitress had an attiude problem and the manager was incompetent. The crowd was inexplicably arrogant. When we complained about our treatment, the manager threatened to sue us. Loverlounge does not understand basic concepts of event hosting, customer service or professionalism. If you have something to prove, then this is a fine way to waste your evening. Otherwise save your money and your time and choose more wisely. Look for Internet posts with related pictures . . .

Simply the most imaginative bar in london. Great cocktail list and really tasty bites. The service is outstanding and very warm. Such a change from all the dark dinghy bars in london. The name loungelover is apt as my friends and i were so comfortable as if we were in some glamorous person's lounge. A real treat for the eyes and an amazing ambience. Can we have more places like this in london, please.

Great looking venue, no doubt about it. I have to agree with what the majority of reviewers are saying. Some of the staff are atrocious, one of the hosts clearly had no idea about the cocktail he was recommending as it was almost the complete opposite of how he described it.
The closing time kick out charade was like a scene from the pied piper only instead of a pleasant flute player to coax us out, it was a marauding female hostess. I'm sure she would have treated Madonna nicely though and not complained that the star was keeping her up way past her bedtime.
Having said that, her ferocious skills were appreciated in kicking out the people who were in our pre booked room as we had arrived late.

I'd go again to give the benefit of the doubt but I always think when you're paying £75 for a bottle of 42 Below, staff service should be impeccable.
