Whilst the food and wine were lovely at Luciano, I'm afraid that everything else was below par on the occasion I visited. The member of staff at the door hardly acknowledged me and when I told her I was a guest of a Mr Clarke, she just replied that there were two tables booked under Clarke and that I would need to look out for my host in the dining room myself.

The table arrangements were poor, glasswear smeared and the breaks between each course were far too long. The toilets were confusing as they didn't have any signage on them to indicate gents' or ladies'! The food was lovely but not excellent enough to carry off the poorer points. Guests expect attention and fine surroundings in a place like Luciano.

We went to Luciano for my Fiance's birthday. The exterior was a little dull and as you walk in to the bar you could hardly see where the restaurant was as it was clouded by the fat cigar smokers!

We were then seated down and handed the menu to find the most amazing list of everything you would want to eat! i nearly ordered everything on the Luciano menu. Not only that, I couldn't order dessert as the portions were very generous. I must say I absolutely loved it and will definitely go back, but with a mask next time.

Luciano is apparently a Marco Pierre White project but I went there because I was hungry and when I pressed my nose against the glass it looked warm and cosy inside. I did like the food; I had roast partridge with figs and lentils which was unusual to say the least!

The only negative thing about Luciano is that for an Italian the prices are more than a little steep!
