Myself and my daughter visited this restaurant at lunch time. The staff were surly, rude and unhelpful in the extreme. The portions were tiny, the chef refused to heat up some ravioli I had asked for, I was given the wrong thing (and they pretended they didn't understand) we waited over 20 mins for warm and stale chocolate cake. A mediocre meal came to almost £50, they added a £6.00 service charge for appalling service. Shame on this place.

The food is fantastic quality but outrageously priced; the service leaves much to be desired. I went in for lunch yesterday with my partner - we weren't after anything particularly special but thought it looked nice. The salads in the salad bar looked great, but it wasn't clear, once you were sitting down, whether you could order them (they don't appear to be on the ridiculous menu that you're given). We both ordered cold, salad type dishes from the menu and it took about half an hour for our order to arrive. The man opposite us ordered a hot dish and he had to remind the waitress that he was waiting for it. I was so hungry that I couldn't complain as I thought I would just shout expletives at the waiting staff.

It would have been more understandable if there had been a lot of people there, but it seemed fairly empty. Worse however, was that the waiting staff were slow, unsmiling and seemed far happier hiding in the kitchenette just off the side of the seating area, drying glasses and chatting, than serving customers.

For a small mozzarella salad, a plate of bruschetta, a basket of bread and two cokes.... £25!

i went here for a pre-theatre dinner with grandparents (War Horse shows just round the corner). This was simple Italian food at it's best. Out table had the clam/bean with white wine stew (x2) and a prawn lasagna. All parties raved - the stew was delicious. Light, delicious stock that required plenty of bread for mopping, and generous amounts of clams. The prawn lasagna was thick with juicy prawns, and nicely tomatoey (sometimes people overdo the bechamel). Their main portions were decently filling. The menu has great variety though is not pages long - I found it difficult to choose from what felt were a multitude of tasty courses.
Friendly professional waiters. Lovely crisp decor. This would also be good for business lunches/dinners or even a first date. Given I work round the corner I am currently looking for ways in which to end up there again
