Did you know that in "Made in Italy" a pizza cannot be served with a soft egg on the top!! Its NOT POSSIBLE. This is not a scarcastic comment but what happened last night when we ate here, this is what we were told. The staff was bullying towards the customers and refused to listen to any comments regarding head chef cooking.
If you buy your pizza by the meter be warned the pizza base will be half cooked and chewy and the spread of the ingredients will be all mixed up. Dessert took 35min to be delivered to the table (it was only 3 tiramisu.....).
In summary, this place is overpriced, the service is poor and the food is basic. A trip to Pizza Express will be much more satisfying and value for money.

I've eaten there with quite a few other people who have tried a lot of the other dishes on offer. Everything was delicious. The speed of service was excellent and attention to detail was also superb. The meal was so nice that the weekend after we took the parents to the same spot and were impressed by all the same qualities again.

Forget the bad issues, Made in Italy is the best restaurant I have ever been to.
The food have an extra taste and the staff are kind and they paid attention to our needs with courtesy. Food is the power point of Made In Italy - you must try it!

Having dined here before and enjoyed it I didn't think twice about lunching there last weekend with my sister who is pregnant and my brother-in-law. The food as I'd found previously was excellent and I can highly recommend the Rocket and Pancetta pizza. The tartuffo bianco that I had for desert was also very nice. The service however left a rather nasty taste.

Mid-way through our desserts the waitress tossed the unrequested bill onto our table as if hinting that we were taking too long and didn't even give us the option of a coffee. For the record they weren't even busy and we'd been there for under an hour. Unimpressed by this rudeness we opted not to pay the discretionary 12.5 per cent service charge that they had kindly included.

The same waitress then proceeded to rudely confront us about this claiming that the service charge wasn't a tip for her but was a compulsory charge levied by the restaurant. When we pointed out the word discretionary on the bill and tried to leave she attempted to stop us and started shouting at the other waitresses to help. She even followed us out onto the street screaming.

We didn't hang around to complain to the manager but I would suggest that allowing your staff to bellow down the Kings road at a heavily pregnant woman probably won't get you much repeat business. I will not be eating here again which is a shame as the menu is a winner.

The previous reviewer clearly has no grasp on what a decent place out is if he thinks that Pizza Express even gets close to Made In Italy. Like I might add all the other terrible reviews you may find on the internet for this place. Quite simply Made In Italy is the only place I have ever been where the pizza remotely represents what you will ordinarily get in Italy.

So it's not perfect and its not particularly cheap but if you want good, real food it's well worth trying. All of the criticisms levelled at this place are no different to anyone's experience anywhere, it is the risk you take in going out to somewhere you don't know. And after all don't rely on my opinion, just like you shouldn't anyone else's just give it a go and discover how Pizza Express should be doing it.

Made In Italy had below average food, luke warm overpriced white wine, poor seating, at times poor service, and is totally overpriced - £270 for six people. The atmosphere is what you make it, but fairly typical trattoria style without the pleasant smiling staff.

The toilets were a bit of a no no, with the urinal next to the sink, so as you wash your hands, literally inches away someone is peeing. Also there was a poor supply of soap and the hand dryer wasn’t working. Pizza Express would be far better value and cleaner than Made In Italy.

I love the pizzas at Made in Italy, but I am not prepared to put up with wait. They are constantly busy and although there were waiters everywhere, none of them were interersted in serving me! Made in Italy could be much better if only they trained their staff more efficiently!
