What a lovely restaurant. The food was divine such subtly in the flavours, free range meat and a large vegetarian selection, which was just as good as 3 of our party were vegetarian. The service was just right and the wine list excellent for an Indian restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Choose this Indian restaurant after reading reviews on trip-advisor, but would not recommend to others! Bad service and not that tasty food, you can find many, much better Indian restaurants. Stop standing right next to customers when eating, that's just annoying!
We could not be more impressed the food was fantastic we had Lamb Nihari and Curchan Chicken and the vegetable dish Bharwan Baigan, Spicy Aubergines and Panchrangi Dall, made from 5 different lentils was a excellent accompaniment. The lamb was cooked in just the right way, tender and not over done the chicken came in strips and tasted wonderful. The service was excellent and not overstated.
All in all we enjoyed the evening and to top it off the bill was very reasonable considering the quality. We will be back here again. Well done.

Wouldn't even give this one star but alas you cannot award less than this.
Lamb chops were raw in the middle, ok if you are eating in a french restaurnat but not how they should be served in an "Indian" (this place is Bangladeshi) restaurant.
Generally bland tasteless food, whereby a generic sauce base had been used to cook (i use that term very loosely) various meat dishes regardless of their description on the menu.
The only redeeming feature is that the large Cobra beers are £3.95, you'll need them to wash away that awful taste in your mouth!
Awful. Poor service, terrible food, which arrived cold e.g 6 small pieces of lamb in what tastes suspiciously like C..bell's tomato soup - Lamb madras??, way overpriced,. One star for the decor.
This is a fabulous little restaurant in Berwick Street, Soho. Parking is quite easy after 7.00pm, and the restaurant itself is well marked, and simple to find.
It had undergone a large scale refurbishment since i was last in there around about Christmas 2006. The menu has changed dramatically, and reflects the best of Banhladeshi home cooking. The owner, Kalam, was only too happy to intoduce me to the chef, and have a look at the kitchen which was immaculate.
The presentation of the food is impeccable too, and everything I ate had been prepared on the premises that day, from the scrumptious beetroot pickle, beautiful vegetable curry, to the moist and succulent tandoori chicken supremes! To finish off we had yummy kulfi ice cream and a couple of brandy coffees, again beautifully presented.
You are always guaranteed a warm welcome from Kalam and his family (who have owned the restaurant for the last 40 odd years), whether it be just yourself or a large group. Once you've eaten at the Maharani, you will keep coming back, as you are a stranger there but once.

Maharani is a fantastic little Indian restaurant that is, according to my Indian companion, exceptionally authentic. He's never been to India though and his mum's English so not sure if I believe him. However, whether authentic or not Maharani is most definitely tasty gorgeous.
