I'm sorry but this place was very disappointing,, save your money and go elsewhere,, it is just not worth it,, and I was overcharged on what was already a very expensive snack,, i don't know what I was paying so much for,, i cannot recommend
Fantastic, good old fashioned quality tea and delicious cakes, not a place for dieters, so if you want a day off and to indulge the delights of Maison Bertaux don't walk past, take a seat and let the show begin. 5 stars all the way, Oh and the lovely Michelle is my birthday sister, we will meet again very soon a birthday tea party I think is on the cards. After a scrumptiously delicious dinner at kaslik (58 greek street), we made our way down to Maison Bertaux. The cafe that offers pattiseries from all over the world with the sweetest elderly man that takes you back to the french 1940s! Loved it!
I'll be back to show my friends what brilliant sweet things Maison Bertaux has to offer!
Call me an addict. Every time I come to London I visit Maison Bertaux and, over 25 years, I have brought all my friends and visitors from abroad. We ALL love it.
Maison Bertaux is one of the very few places in England where you still get proper (loose leaf) tea, rather than teabags, and the pastries are to die for. Even if you're on a diet, once a month you can allow yourself the "real" thing. Who worries about calories when it tastes this good?
Okay, maybe the WC needs updating, and a set of new chairs wouldn't do any harm! But maybe all that adds to the unique charm of this place!
Maison Bertaux is not a place for dieters - one look at the cakes and pastries on offer and you'll put on 6 pounds! The food is lush though - lots of custardy, creamy things to pile on the pounds. Now if only Maison Bertaux did some low fat versions!
