Absolutely AWFUL service - we always seem to get turned away because they have tables reserved outside, we go to the restuarant next door, come back out and there is still nobody there! Not only do they turn you down when you ask for a table, if you do get a table, you have to wait forever to get served! Getting there attention seems impossible as they seem to have nice little chats with other customers/staff whilst you wait to get the bill!
Wouldn't recommend it to anybody, and I strongly think they need to reassess there strategy. I'm sure the staff inside are friendlier! (well I hope so anyway)
Possibly the best Lebanese food in London . And very good service, you don't get the arrogant waiters in edgware road.
Highly recommend
I went with my family to this place call Mandaloun as I am Lebanese the food was shit no good even for non Lebanese it make our food down I say avoid that place
In summary, terrible service and average food.
When we arrived we were met by what looked like a manager who didn't seem to care we were there, not even a smile. He just told us to sit anywhere and then walked off. 10 minutes later and still no menus, he finally noticed and told one of the waiting staff, of which there were plenty. The menus themselves were a bit soggy, a small detail but it matters.
I ordered some chicken wings to start which were extremely bland, lacked any of the 'oriental' spices mentioned on the menu and some had been chargrilled to a crisp. However, my partner had the houmous which was lovely. My main of grilled lamb was very average with little flavour, the rice was very dry. My partner had the sea bass which was nice but again, average at best.
We arrived in the evening, the shisha area was full but there were less than 10 people eating in the restaurant. With so many waiting staff I was surprised no one noticed we hadn't been served when we arrived. The person who first greeted us just appeared to be in charge of the shisha area and so didn't seem to care about us as we were eating.
Horrible service, average food even though it does have a nice decor/atmosphere. I would definitely NEVER go again.
Some of the worst service I have ever experienced in a London restaurant.
My hot starter was served to me cold. When I tried to complain to the waitress she they looked very puzzled and fetched another waitress. Another waitress arrived and took what was left in my serving bowl away, heated it up and returned it to me. Completely ignoring the fact that I had already dished most of the starter onto my plate before tasting it and realising it was cold. So I only had half a starter.
When our plates were taken away I tried to raise the issue again but was again met my blank looks. Most of the staff don't speak very good English and are very poorly trained in service standards. Not once were we asked, is everything OK with your meal etc.
You are asked to keep the same cutlery from your starter for your main. I'm sorry if I'm eating out and paying £10+ for a main course. I expect clean cutlery.
When it came to our bill we complained to the manager and asked for the service charge to be removed. We told him about the starter but he was fairly aloof and didn't offer to also remove that from the bill which would have been the courteous thing.
The food was average. I've had a Moroccan lamb & cous cous. I've eaten out in Morocco in all sorts of restaurants and the dish wasn't a patch on anything I have eaten there.
The only thing going for this place is the nice decor and atmosphere, expect the atmosphere is slightly spoilt by so many diners being grumpy about the poor service.
Very poor service, had to request menus after being seated about 10 minutes then got our meals served separately. Food was not as described on menu and at no stage were we asked if we wished to have more drinks or even a dessert menu. the 12.5% service charge at the end only added insult to injury. Never again.
First time at the westfield. Was amazed to find this great restaurant. We were drawn in by the amazing smell of the shisha pipes. Comfortable place with warm atmosphere. Very nice music that reminded me of my days in Dubai. What was missing was the dubai temperature. Excellent food, not too commercial like the other places you come across in central London. The theatre kitchen gives you comfort as you can see that the grilled meat being cooked within sight. The salads were delicious especially our favourite fatoosh. The real fresh cocktail juice was another reminder of the Dubai swimming pool favourite. Highly recommended and a reason for us to come back to the Westfield.
Excellent design, great food. Very friendly service albeit a bit slow.. we were happy to have been given a table as there was a long queue and the place was extremely busy.. great atmosphere too. The cocktails were very interesting. Deffo recommend this place. My new favourite for grills and mezzes.
The restaurant is lovely and the food is great, shame about the service. We waited ages for the food and when it came the order was mixed up. We asked 5 times for plates and cutlery - apparently they didn't have any clean ones. They ran out of Rum and napkins. Not good for a group booking, no one to one service provided
Overpriced and happy to mislead.
There were four of us. We ordered two grand mezze (listed in the menu at £21 each, with a minimum order of two) with some side dishes. When we received our bill the two grand mezze were listed on our bill as £84.
The food was good, but I wouldn't say that the amount and quality was worth £84. It included the cheapest (but good quality) mezze houmous, moutabbal, etc, followed by an average mixed grill. I raised the issue with the staff, but they convinced us that we had made the error. Having seen the menu again I realise now that we were scammed, as it does indeed say £21 per serving, and we only asked for two, as it said on our receipt. They lied outright when I asked them to repeat the price to me. Had we known it was so expensive we would not have ordered it at all. I wish I had had the nerve to complain more.
I know, I'm an idiot and should have made a scene. Don't let it happen to you. I won't be going to Mandaloun again. There are many better Lebanese restaurants around, and they are more reasonably priced.
