My first and last time at Mango Tree. The decor was good. The service was ok. We found that the food in the evening was overly priced for what it was and when I asked for the bill 3 nonalcholic cocktails, 2pts of cobra, 3starters 3maincourse. 4nans and 1rice. £96/-. And when I got my card out to pay that was when I was told "sorry card machine not working all day today" So why wasnt this high lighted as soon as we went in? I had to go out and get the cash from cash machine. I should have just left my name and address and say I will send you a chq. Cause by rights I could have done this.

We went with our kids on a late afternoon on Saturday.

Cons: It is not geared up for young kids! Too many breakable table dressings, no kids activity (I’m thinking of the pizza chain that provides the paper table mat for colouring/puzzles and crayons), very cold toilets (plus cold water in the taps, not good even for adults) and the biggest issue –no kids menu. The decor is a bit ‘clubby’ red and blue LED wall lights were on even when there is plenty of natural daylight bit OTT, but probably comes into its own in the evening. The staff were slightly ‘cold’ in their mannerism, probably wouldn’t notice this on a busy evening, but they were efficient.

Pros: The food was excellent. We had a margarita pizza, salmon teriyaki, chicken teppanyaki, and starters of chilli & garlic mogo chips and chilli paneer. The pizza was fab – extra thin base, the sauce had a hint of pepper as you would expect (this was bought for the kids, but they were too sensitive to the pepper!) We loved it so had it packed to take home.
Mogo/cassava chips were fluffy on inside (not dry at all), deep fried and smothered in a very garlicky and chilli sauce. This was the best I’ve had in a restaurant. Chilli paneer was delicious – soft paneer (not tough/chewy) and a good coating of chilli sauce. The best dishes were the Japanese dishes. The salmon teriyaki was presented beautifully and both this and the chicken teppanyaki were tender and with plenty of the sauce. Even the skin was removed from the salmon – perfect. Both served with rice.
To summarise, its not geared up for the kids, but it is a place that serves a range of cusines that are fresh and ALL very tasty and under one roof. Credit to the chef...

The food was good. The Service was also OK. But the place was cramped. The area is really cramped and not at all comfortable. They need to change the layout of the dining area as it is small and stuffy. I was there on Monday and it turned out to be a Jazz night. The singer was fine but she was singing just in front of us. But the point that really spoilt the evening for us was - drunk people allowed in the dining area. 3 drunk people came in and were misbehaving and disorderly. They didn't harm anyone but to have drunk people clobbering all over the place shouting loudly and creating a ruckus when you are eating dinner. It just totally put us off!! And the hotel staff did not do anything. Just sat there watching. Sorry, I am not coming back.

Totally disagree with the review below, for £3.95 getting a hot food buffet is a pretty good deal, (considering a lunch time meal deal at BOOTS would cost the same). Also the salad bar is very very big so it's not like your paying £7.95 for a piece of lettuce and cucumber!!

Anyway I had an excellent experience here, portions are very generous, and prices are very reasonable. Food is excellent and there are a variety of different cuisines to satisfy everyones taste buds!

Will definetly be going back

My first review ive ever written but had to sign up just to let everyone know about my experience today at Mango Treat, Harrow.

Mango Tree has recently opened up in place of the old Freddy's Bar. Looks amazing but as we all know looks can be deceiving.

Went in for the lunch time period only a few tables were taken. Decided to have the lunch time buffet £3.75. Let me tell you what you pay for is exactly what you get. There is no range and limited to one veg and one non meat curry. If you want salad included you will be charged £7.95 which is crazy. Thats not even the worse bit. When selecting to eat Naan I was shocked to see the Naan was covered in mould, told one of the waitresses, they didnt even blink and just acted as if it was nothing. Food was also cold.

My bill came no mention of the cold and mouldy food. I asked to see the manager(Arjun), he came over in a manor which was as if i was troubling him and wasting his time.

Will never be going back again for food atleast.

We are disappointed to note the review posted and we feel that a reply is necessary We are not the Mango "Treat "We have clearly advertised on our display posters and menu :Hot Buffet : £3.95 ( tihs is normally 6 items on display ) Salad Buffet £ 4.95 ( this isnormally 18 items on display ) if customers want to combine the Hot and Salad, this is advertised as £7.95 ( 24 items ) all items are clarly ON DISPLAY ON THE SALAD BOAT BUFFET BAR and the customer can make an informed decision ; We are unable to understand how this is considered " CRAZY " if this customer felt that the prices were " crazy " , they can make a judgement and either decide to proceed or not proceed ; Naan ( pita Bread ) is fresh daily and for the information of all customers , all unused hot buffet food is DISPOSED OFF DAILY ;Our staff are polite and will attend to any issues raised ; Arjun, our manager , will attend to any issues and resolve them as fully as he can;if the customer " will never be going back for the for the food at least " , what exactly will the customer be returning to the restaurant for ?Trust that we have replied to your concerns ; regardsRaw Restaurants
