Decent steaks and fish; like good pub grub with a 50% surcharge. Eton Mess pud (gloopy fruit and oversweet meringue) was completely mediocre for such a simple dish, tasted like a £1.49 packaged dessert from Tesco.

£1.35 bottled ales @ £4.50, fair enough i suppose, but why a 15 minute wait to drink one? £11 Rioja @ £45? not atypical for london, but the venue + food didn't warrant such banditry.

After the meal we faced the classic 'oops we forgot to take your discount off the bill', then when that was foiled, plan B was the 'ah, but our computer doesn't recognise that discount at this time/day/season sorry.

We informed our server that the discount was agreed with one of her colleagues as we sat down and she could either bring the correct bill or we'd just walk out. 45 seconds later the correct bill arrived.

in the end, a passable meal and (having avoided winelist) not extortionate, but why such hard work?

Myself and three friends had a lovely meal the other night at the MPW Steakhouse. We all had Fillet steaks cooked in different styles but my one with garlic smails on top was fab. The chips also are worth a mention as they were delicious nice a crunchy.

My starter was Smoked salmon that was without a doubt the best I have ever tasted and we were quite full by the time desserts came around but we shared a Creme Brulee. Overall very good would reccomend highly.
