Matsu provides fantastic meals at excellent prices. The restaurant is well kept and stylish. The staff are super friendly and helpful. And the plum wine is a must!
We always have a pleasant dining experience and have never been disappointed.
I agree, this place is rubbish, they wouldn't know Japanese food if it bit them on the bum. In fact nobody working at this place is Japanese at all! Do we really have to wait till 2012 before we can expect any half decent Japanese food in the east end? Very disappointing!
PS: If anyone DOES know of a good sushi place in this neck of the woods please let me know!
EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN PERIL!
I ordered the "sashimi bento" and got four slivers of dried up crusty fish, some brown lettuce, a mound of rice and a quarter of an orange. I said immediately that I wasn't going to eat this - they maintained the fish was fresh and made me pay anyway. Outrageous. I repeat, ONLY A FOOL WOULD CONTEMPLATE EATING HERE.
I have been bringing my family to Matsu on special occasions for years. If you want to spend a fortune and get so so service - go to Wagamamas. If however you prefer smiling faces, wonderful food, amazing prices and a special experience go to Matsu!
I loved the peaceful, relaxing atmosphere at Matsu. Friendly, polite staff and a personal touch. For me, Matsu is perfect for a light meal and a few of the new amazing cocktails after work!
Matsu has a fantastic atmosphere, good friendly service and wonderful food, I'll definitely be going back to Matsu again soon!
I often eat out at Matsu and overall I enjoy the food and service. Matsu is quite a relaxed Japanese restaurant and one of my favourite places in the area.
Matsu is just as good as Wagamamas. The food’s nice and cheap and is always tasty and filling. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad dish in Matsu.
