Went to the Mcqueen in Old Street after wandering around the area and found at the back of it a really nice cosy restaurant. We entered and were greeted with a great smile. We sat down and enjoyed a great steak and a nice red wine from Argentina. I would definately come back as was made to feel so welcome as most London restaurants are just looking for people well done Mcqueen!

I went to McQueen, hadn't heard of the night being hosted before but had a great night, the people were really friendly service was quick with a smile and i can't remember much else ha ;-)

Came to the restaurant for a meal for 2 and I could not believe the change in the place. less stuffy ,Great music and the staff were so friendly. Food was very nice and I would defiantly return very soon to the venue. Would highly recommend the venue. Cocktails in the lounge bar finished the night off with a high

I visited Mcqueen with my husband last week Friday for dinner in their beautiful restaurant. This is now the 4th time that I have been to Mcqueen. Can’t believe that it has taken me this long to write a review about them. I just love Mcqueen. The food is amazing and the staff so lovely and polite. The restaurant manager, is a great addition to an already creditable team. The restaurant had a large table of I think 20 people as well so believe they can accommodate large groups. Mcqueen must be visited

A group of friends and I recently visited the trendy Bar and restaurant at McQueen. Absolutely loved the venue. The vibe was warm and inviting. Staff were very friendly and attentive without being too overbearing.

This was my first visit to the venue as it came highly recommended by a friend. We were all blown away with the venue and how warm and inviting it makes you feel. Finally I mange to find a venue in the Shoreditch area that has the sophistication of venues in the west end without the stiffness and rudeness.

After drinks in the bar we had dinner in their restaurant. The staff were a delight and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced.
Definitely recommend the steaks.

I also believe they have a club that opens downstairs in the evenings. Can’t wait to come back to see this and all the staff again. Would definitely recommend this venue.

I went back to McQueen last Friday for drinks & dinner and as before, this venue never disappoints me. Cocktails were spot-on and the atmosphere in the Lounge Bar was buzzy and upbeat. The Restaurant is such a nice room and an little oasis away from the busy bar.

I had the scallops for starters and the duck for main, both of them tasty and cooked to perfection! Well done, chef.

The decor is the only vaguely good thing about this bar. Overpriced drinks, incredibly rude staff who tried to charge me and my guests (I was there for birthday drinks) £10 entry when we had reserved an area AND agreed an extortionate minimum spend.

The club downstairs is absolutely minging, and like walking into a room full of TOWIE cast offs.

Will never, ever go back nor would I recommend it to anyone. Would give zero stars if that was possible.

I was so excited to come here, but it seemed a little tacky. Service charge added to the drinks bill for no reason other than greed I believe. I had a fun time but wouldn't go back. Watch out for the toilet attendant too! Over rated in my opinion.

Nice decor and ok music but thats about it. Came down on a saturday around xmas and the door staff were arrogant and unfriendly. Also the crowd were quite towie. Also seemed to lack atmosphere and no where to sit downstairs other than unless you had a table. There are better and more friendlier places to check out.

I had the chance to check out the newly refurbished Club at McQueen and was really impressed. The sound system is so much better and so is the lighting. This is by far the best Club in East London. Beautiful people all around, world-class DJs and great vibe. Highly recommend it!

I have now been to mcqueen at least 3 times. Normally it takes a while for to become a regular face. Not with these guys. Always met with a smile and on 3rd trip, my tanqueray 10 / tonic was waiting by the time i reached the bar.
Got to hand it to McQueen, they have a great team with a lot of personality. Great selection of drinks. Their bar manager john is a master when it comes to alcohol. If you can't see any cocktail you like on the menu, he'll create something specific to your taste. If he has time, he'll also take you through the range of booze, giving you a history lesson through alcohol. Sounds boring, but he's very entertaining and clearly passionate about his profession.
The crowd is always good looking and the music always pumping. The club is amazing and the dj's are awesome.

Is there any danger of getting through to this venue? I've been ringing all week to book a table for 16 guests for my sister's 30th. I've left countless voicemails with no outcome. I'll give it up now I think!!!

5 Star service from the Donaghmore lads! The restaurant food was amazing and the service superb. It is the perfect location for good food then wander into the bar and if you want to go out-out you can head down stairs to the club.

I visited McQueen for the first time on a Thursday night for drinks & dinner and was very impressed with the venue. Beautifully designed, spacious, and very classy. The food in the Restaurant was superb and reasonably priced too. Just booked our company's Christmas lunch there and really looking forward to it!

McQueen has become my favourite venue in London. Nice and chilled during the day when I sometimes pop in to work using their free wi-fi. The Chesterfields of the Lounge Bar are so comfy and staff always look after me. With my McQueen Friendship Card I also get discounts until 7pm which is great.

The Restaurant always amazes me, great quality and such a nice atmosphere with Steve McQueen films showing in the background. One of the waitresses, Veronika, knows me already and always make sure that I get the best table possible.

McQueen is definitely 5 stars!

McQueen has become my favourite bar in Shoreditch. Great food and drinks with an atmosphere that's hard to find nowadays in Central London. If you want to go somewhere to relax, have a laugh and unwind after a hard day at work then this is the place to go.

Amazing venue! Brilliant Staff. Myself and a group of girls and guys attended in June of this year, for someones birthday. We booked a table, the staff were so helpful. On the night we had an amazing time, drinks were flowing and staff were so attentive, the atmosphere was great and so was the venue. Recommend it to anyone. Fab. My friend also lost her bag in there, the manager contacted her, we collect it, it had everything left inside from Iphone4, to cash, to ysl mascara, not many places that would happen in London! Fab service all round.10/10.

I had an amazing time!

I heard about this night through a friend. I love circus acts, and was not disappointed! This night was like no other. I'll definitely be coming again.

Been there 4 times in the last month.
From the moment I got there I was very happy with what I saw. Accustomed to going out in the westend I thought i'd try something a little different. I was pleased to see the host was on point, there was an incredibly rowdy group in front of me which were promptly moved on. This was a relief for me, as one of being biggest issues with the west end is the clientele let in clubs. If im paying entry or taking a table I dont want to be surrounded by trouble, and this is one of the few places where im at ease.

The decor inside really is magnificent. Table service was good, and I thought bottle price was more than reasonable. I ended up staying the duration and have been back numerous times since.

I've signed up to the loyalty card after talking with front of house. So I hope to be popping in with my clients frequently in the future once i receive it.

Read the review by Kelly Hussey and I have to say I toally agree! The food, drink, atmosphere and venue all contributed to what was a great night out. It was the perfect way to end the day with some after work drinks on a Thursday, and with the long weekend it was a great way to see it in.

Went for the first time on Saturday and had a really good night. Good atmosphere and music! The bar upstairs is a bit more pretentious and one of the barmen I could honestly say was one of the rudest I have come across which unfortunately lets the place down a bit as you don't need that on a night out!

A 'Great Escape' from the usual city bars.

I went here a few months ago, it was surreal and I think a bit try hard.
We were on a guest list as a friends friends band was playing, but we still all (5 of us) had to queue on our own (no one else was wanting to get in) behind a little barrier, before having to pay to get in.
The upstairs bar was so loud you had to shout in each others ears, took ages to get served to. Then everyone had to clear a large space, moving tables and happly seated people so a girl could do a bit of acrobatics on a cloth hanging from the ceiling. All well and good but could have been organised better.
Down stairs was some sort of party for a magazine with transvestite stripers and people on stilts. Fun in it's own way but weirdly for the "club/dancefloor" part of the place the music was too quiet (and everything is covered in leather & mirrors)
The third room, where the band played was also covered in leather and was cold.
The above are my last impressions and overall it was a strange, expensive and unnecessary experience. I'm sure it's great for people who like tables covered in leather, getting sore throats from shouting at each other and feeling slightly awkward on a quite dancefloor. Everyone else reviewing this place seems to like it so I'm sure you will to.

I have been in Mc Queen now on 4 different occaisions.Recently for a friends birthday we were dinning in the restaurant.The food was absolutley delicious,the service was immpeciable,the staff were so sweet and freindly.The astmosphere was lovely.We then went into the lounge after our dinner for a few drinks,the crowd was cool,friendly are very good looking,and we seen a few celebs!!..Afer a few we went down to the club!! It was amazing!! We all just loved it,we didn't have to get cabs to other places,everything was under the same roof,who ever deisigned this place is a genious,and they have the coolest taste I have ever seen in London!! This is the best place I have been in London by far!! My friends and I have been everywhere believe me... I would highly recommend this venue,and We will definately be regulars....

Went there this past Friday after a friend recommended it, what a great place! Great ambiance, great crowd and great music and the venue is so classy and sexy definitely somewhere worth visiting!

Been to McQueen on many occasions as I work in the City so it's just 8 min walk. Love the venue and love the ambience. Really stylish bar and I love, love club downstairs! I've heard they are opening restaurant very soon, been there for friends b'day party few weeks ago and food was great so up for some proper fest later this year!

I've been to Mcqueen a few times now and I like the place. True its becoming a bit of a cityfest (avoid thursdays at all cost) and it can get a little too hot on busy nights but the energy of the venue is always relaxed, cool and fun. On quieter midweek evenings its great having a chilled out unrushed drink in the lounge area. Aesthetically I think the venue looks amazing, each room has a completely different character which suits the mood throughout the night far better than just having one space.

The staff are fun, polite and always up for a laugh. A few times the service can be a little slow but thats when its rammed and a 'little' delay can be expected. Never had a problem on the door even when they are charging or theirs a guest list maybe because I think a friendly smile and handshake go a long way…. And what's with all this prejudice about eastern european doormen? You should try the west end and see how they operate up there! I come to Shoreditch to get away from that nonsense and thankfully I've yet to be disappointed.Take last week; one of our party was politely escorted out of the building after a few too many. After searching for her we found her outside with the 'big scary doorman' who was actually looking after her. Most venues would have called it a night right there. Instead we were told to take her away for 30mns for some air/coffee. You cant say fairer than that! She came back 30mns later right as rain and danced the rest of the night away. They could so easily have spoiled what turned out to be a great night out.

I couldn't rave about McQueen more then I am right now - this place is relaxed and fun, I go there all the time with my friends for early drinks or late at night in the club and haven't ever had a problem. If it rains why is this the doorstaffs fault, are they to let anyone into the venue who are refusing to pay the fee which covers for entry to the club (all clubs in east london charge??) I love McQueen, all I can say is, if you are looking for a fab venue you can go to from 6 and leave at the early hours of the morning having had a wicked night then this is the place for you!

I have been to McQueen alot over the last few months, and each time i am pleasantly surprised by the entertainment and atmosphere which is created by the venue. The staff and service our incredible and attentive. I would recommend this venue to anyone as one of my Favourite places to go in London.

We happened on McQueen by accident last weekend. We had a fairly big party and despite not having a reservation we were well looked after. Everyone was friendly and attentive and the management seemed to go out of their way to accommodate us. Loved the decor, especially upstairs! A really great time was had by all. Will be adding McQueen to my list of regular places to go!

What a great bar. Fantastic atmosphere, totally unique entertainment and incredibly friendly staff. Have been to Mcqueens now a few times and would reccommend it to Everyone. It is stylish, affordable, lively, fun and has all the qualities required to provide a great location for a great night out, I will be back there asap!

I love McQueen... I went the other night and saw circus acts like never before. My girlfriends and I had a brilliant time. The bar food was yummie and the cocktails delicious. I would recommend to anyone going with friends, family or a date. Im yet to go down to the club on a big night but planning it for the weekend! x

So this is yet another fancy bar trying to bridge the gap between shoreditch trendies and the local city boys. To be honest it definetly leans towards the latter than the former, with the bar being half full of city types the day we went, and a scattering of trendies loitering around the dj decks. The food was okay but overpriced. Though on the day I went the 2 dishes I ordered were half finished and did not match the description on the menu. Also 9 pounds for 4 hot wings? I found the service surley and slow. Waiting 10 mins to be served on a half empty bar with most of the staff milling around the waiter area you'd expect at least a smile when it came to ordering a £3 soft drink, or £4 beer, but was given no such joy. The decor is nice, and McQueen might be good once it finds its feet but for now this is a work in progress.

I cannot rave about McQueen enough, great place! Lovely friendly staff, fantastic cocktails - which I have to admit I ended up having a few too many of, great music and yummy nibbles. The interior was sexy and yet comfortable - the atmosphere was electric and I ended up having enough money at the end of the night for a cab home - bonus! I cannot recommend McQueen enough, especially if you are with a group of people as there is so much space and they easily accommodate you when arriving - big thumbs up, can't wait to go back again!

This is exactly what Shoreditch needed! I have been twice now to McQueen and will certaily be returning again!
Stunning interior and yummy cocktails in the bar upstairs, perfect for chilling early evening. My girlfriends and I headed to the club downstairs and had the best night we have had in a long time. We were well looked after, good looking crowd and the music was amazing. Very impressed!

I love the lounge in this place. Nice chilled area, really felt at home, thought prices were good. Staff were seriously hot. I've lived in east a long time, and its been crying out for a venue just like this.
I can wait to eat there in the next couple weeks.

McQueen has been really well planned, the setting is good, the decor is really good. The club system is banging, i'd love to dj there myself.

I really think the guys who didn't like the place must been somewhere else. I am not English but I lived in London for the last 5 years and must say I've been to many places but this one is number one in service and nice live music. Try to imagine glamour from South Kensington but without the so posh people and the better service and a lot cheaper. Try it on Wednesdays, Fridays or Saturdays. Bless you all. Peace

I have been twice to this venue in the last week and I have to say this is what east london needed. The owners have really done a great job on making McQueen into an amazing and unique place. They have great performances on the ground floor from acoustic singers to fire dancers. Downstairs is the band stage surrounded by the slick dark decor that any artist would be proud to play in. Me and my friends who are all in the fashion and music industry cannot get enough of this place and we found the staff from the front door and throughout the whole club to be great people who are happy to help. If you do one thing this month check out this place as you will be back again and again.
