Oh, Meson Don Felipe...
I enjoy eating in Southwark, there is a varied range of interesting restaurants and bars and theatres. As far as restaurant experiences go, this has by far been one of the worst.
The food tasted of one of two things, salt, or nothing. The staff were bitter throughout the complaint process, after we had complained about the service they still managed to send our bill with 12.5% on.
We were a party of 6 and all were displeased. For a Restaurant that has been open so long, I found myself shocked.
What I will say is if you enjoy ambient lighting, live music and close quarter tables the venue itself isn't half bad.
Brilliant food, friendly service, great atmosphere, and enjoyable guitar music. Will go back again and again.
The food was nice at Meson Don Felipe, but the portions were quite small so a little expensive. It was also incredibly crowded at meson Don Felipe which I gather is normal. It’s okay if you enjoy a cosy atmosphere, or to put it another way to feel like a sardine in a tin!
This place is great. Whether you've just finished a super gay band rehearsal and fancy sinking a few pints of vino, or you're entertaining a senior citizen, the Meson Don Felipe is perfect.
I say FIVE STARS!
When I grow up I want to live at Meson Don Felipe. I have no idea who Felipe is, but there's always a party on at his house - and plenty of sangria. Am I wrong to want so little out of life? I say no - who wouldn't want to live at Meson Don Felipe?
