I have been to Met Su Yan many times, both in Golders Green and Edgware, and had the food as takeaway also. The food is excellent, not too greasy as can be the case in many chinese restaurants, tasty and fresh. Service is usually prompt and good. I have been there both as just adults for a special meal and with the whole family with under 5s and found the restaurant to be accomodating for a variety of different types of visits. The ambience is trendy and relaxing. I would thoroughly recommend Met Su Yan and think that the other reviewer must have been there on an unusually busy or bad day as I've not experienced what they did.

Took some kosher colleagues to the Edgware branch on business. Staff were dire - rude reception, extremely slow waiting staff and an outright demand for a bigger tip (they were lucky to get one at all). The so-called manager was the worst of the lot, telling us that we were lucky to be served at his 'exclusive' restaurant.

So, the food. We found a hair in the noodles, which were undercooked, as were most of the dishes. Definitely not what one expects for something this expensive.

All in all, this is definitely one to avoid, as much as possible.
