Definite feel I got a bum deal with this LivingSocial Voucher. Like a previous reader, I couldn't manage to find this place open. On their Website it says 19:00 to 01:00, but it's nothing of the sort - you may see a light on at the door on the side, but they are clearly not open for normal business. On my 5th and final attempt to visit the shop (unopen), I decided to wait around to see if I could get anyone's attention as there definitely seemed to be someone there. After waiting half an hour on a cold wet evening, a guy approached from outside entering the shop, which so happened to be unlocked - 'Strange' I said to him, 'what time do you open?' He told me up to 5.30pm in the day hesitantly and asked me what I wanted. I then mentioned the voucher and he opened the door willingly and offered to take my order, it just meant I had to wait a bit. At this stage I was just happy to get out of the cold. A second gentlemen who was already inside came to take my order, for which I asked for half brownies and half cookies, that was my only stipulation, the rest, I said I shall leave in your capable hands. I gave them my voucher and off he went.
20 mins later he produced 2 boxes one with Cookies and 1 a lot smaller with Brownies, he stated that the offer was for cookies only, trying to give the impression he was doing me a favour providing the Brownies (this was NOT the case it should be for either Cookies, Brownies and Milkshakes to the value £15.) When I got home I found 2 decent sized brownies, obviously leftovers from the days stock and half baked cookies, although they tasted okay, to be honest I felt conned as I could have got a better batch from Sainsbury's for a quid. All I can say is that I won't be wasting my money on these guys again.
The same thing happened to me as the previous reviewer . I bought a Groupon and have been trying to visit that shop in vain. The
first time, I visited on Sunday 19th June at 8pm, and found that the
shop was closed, even though on the website it clearly states that
the opening hours were noon - 9pm on weekends. I then read the sign in the shop window which said that it closes at 7pm on weekends, and not 9pm as advertised.
Disappointed, I tried again today (Sunday 3 July). I arrived at the
shop at 5:00pm, and was extremely disappointed to find that it was
closed yet again. The sign for the opening hours has been removed from the shop window. I banged on the door to be answered by a builder who said he had no idea why the shop was closed, and was not sure whether it was to be opened on Monday or in the future.
This is the second time I have made a special trip to try to use my
Groupon voucher. Both trips turned out to be a waste of my time and
money in travelling cost. They have displayed false information on their website, and have not informed your customers if they needed to close suddenly. This is extremely poor practise and not the way to run a business.
Ordered a voucher to try Midnite Cookies as it was a good deal. I first stopped by in late December, between Christmas and New Year's. I checked their website and Facebook pages to see if there were any special opening hours. None mentioned so I turned up and they were closed. Not even a notice on the door to say when they'd be reopening. Three months later, I turn up again to redeem my voucher. Walk into the store at 6.30pm on a Friday night and there was no one where. No one behind the counter. I stood there for a few minutes, looking at the sparse selection and no one appeared. I left again and have concluded that Midnight Cookies simply don't want custom. I'll stick to Ben's Cookies.
We have just received our first order from Midnight Cookies and it was absolutely amazing, the cookies were moist as was the pecan topped brownie. The order arrived in less than half an hour and everything was hot, fresh from the oven. We will definitely order from here again.
A couple nights ago, I had a major craving for something sweet and freshly baked. I wanted cookies so badly it was almost painful! A friend had sent me a link to the Midnite Cookies website, so I decided to give them a shot. Once I placed the order online, I realized I didn't have any cash on me and they didn't accept credit cards! I had the option to pay via Paypal, but that didn't work because I had a non-uk account. So I reluctantly resigned myself to a cookie-free night. About forty minutes later, I got a call on my cell and it was the delivery guy from Midnite Cookies! I explained that I hadn't actually paid for the cookies and I had no idea how the order went through. He was really nice and said I should just take the cookies anyway because "it would be a shame to let them go to waste." So I went downstairs and he handed me a heavy box that felt warm to touch and smelt delicious. I thanked him for the cookies and promised to call the shop the next day and pay for the order. He was very nice about it! (i just called them and paid a few minutes ago). Anyway, in my excitement I had ordered about ten cookies, not knowing that they would be gigantic! I ate half and had to take a break! But they were amazing. The cookies were crunchy on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside, and tasted spectacular! I absolutely loved the coconut ones, and I can't wait to try out the rest. In short, Midnite Cookies is great! Btw if you're in Zone 1, there is no delivery charge. Definitely give Midnite Cookies a shot if you need some tlc.
