Food here is very good, authentic and cheap, they have a lot of variety. I'm Vietnamese myself so i know this food is good, whenever me and my family want to eat Vietnamese food we go here. Service is not at its best, but its nothing to complain about, decor is pretty awful, but who cares when your paying £6 for a main, I recommend bringing your own alcohol as the wine here is limited, they have 1 house white and 1 house red. You cant find a better Vietnamese place in miles unless your prepared to go to Kingsland (Hackney).
Cheap, very varied and quality menu. There is a lot of things you will have not of seen before, so it seems to be genuine Vietnamese... The prices have risen recently and they have got a license to sell alcohol.
Definitely recommended.
Came here with a group and were seated downstairs, we had an extra person in the group at the last minute and it was no problem for them to find another space.
Food was very tasty and fresh. I had Mien Tay Rolls to start and cashew nut duck as a main they were both delicious.
Some people have complained about the service in previous reviews but its a super busy restaurant and all the waiters try their best to make sure your happy. All the orders were taken promptly and food arrived fairly quickly also I agree the place is a bit shabby but I don't see how you can complain when its so cheap!
Mains cost around £5-6 and its BYO yay!
Would reccommend booking as this place is packed every night of the week.
Great mid week cheap eat, am looking forward to trying the Shoreditch branch.
Overall a good option if you can't make it over to Kingsland Road. Good value, tasty vietnamese food and you can bring your own alcohol. However a few things that could be improved. Firstly, they had far too many junior waiters that kept trying to take the plates and glasses from the table, even when we were still trying to eat of them! We weren't eating that slow!! But the manager was friendly and took an interest in making sure we were happy with the food. Also, you wouldn't go there for the decor and the air con is artic if you are sitting on one of the tables underneath the unit.
All I can say is GO GO GO! I ate so much, starter was about 6 different items, dinner was 4 items, there were 3 of us and the bill came to about £45!
Unreal - the whole evening was a series of wow - try this - mmmm - amazing - delicious, oh my god ... and so on.
This is what we ate ...salt and pepper squid - amazing, eat these first while piping hot with a dash of soy, come with lovely garlicky onionsquail - squeeze on lime and dip in the salt and pepper and eat the sticky joints with your fingersprawns on sugarcane - chew the sugarcane as you eat the prawn wrapped round it - divine.
fresh rolls - clean, fresh, light, served with rich sate saucecrispy pancake - crispy but fresh, and HUGE!
frogs legs - lovely gingery crispy with garlic Followed by:Tamarind prawns - sweet, sticky, huge prawns
Goat with galangal - creamy sizzling plate of deliciousness, sauce fab with riceChicken with honey and spices - my fave dish, to die for, would have loved it tomorrow for lunch in a baguette!Papaya salad with dried beef - fresh clean and refreshing with slices of chewy (in a good way) dried beef. All I can say is GO !
