The food even though expensive is very nice but again, i find the staff very rude.
If this place had better staff that could speak english well who also smiled now and then this would be one of the best indians in london as the food is very very good, the size of the dishes could be a little bigger but apart from that it's OK.
been here numerous times over last 5 years, and although it is expensive the food is good and service is efficient and good turn around. Will keep going to eat there.
Stay Away! This place is the worst restaurant I have been in,the staff are so rude, the food is bland, the place is dirty - it should be closed down.
AVOIDwe went last night, food arrived after two minutes, not a good sign.
It was 75% bland and old, it was also 75% cold/tepid. We had ask for music to be changed as it kept going on/off/on/off/on.
nobody asked how the food was-surprise! Then when the bill arrived we put about ten pounds over, the waiter said-"All for me" we said "no bring the change" 3 times!! AVOID
Good food, rude service. As a visitor from the US, my experience with Indian food is limited.
My questions were answered in the most perfunctory manner.
Even though the food was very tasty, I would never return to a restaurant where the staff seems to not care at all about the customer.
I visited this place last night (Tuesday) with 2 friends at about 10pm. It was completely empty and so the service was extremely quick! However, I have never known such bitter service. The waiters are hurried and blunt and care not for idle chit chat so dont expect any. Its a great shame that the fantastic curries...namely the lamb rogan josh, chicken dansak, and the prawn biriyani, were accompanied by the shocking attitude of the waiters! It seems that they know how good the food is, and like my friend whos local it is, they must assume that the customers will keep returning regardless of the discraceful staff! I for one will return one day because the curries are incredible. The lassis were a different story and I wasnt best impressed, so stick to the beer or coke. I rate this 3 stars. It would have been 4 or even 5 if the service was even average! We didnt tip, well we left a few pennies to rub the salt in the wound!
My husband and I arrived at the restaurant for dinner on 18th July 2007.
We asked for a table for two. The waiter was abrupt and rude and said no.
Another waiter approached us and pointed us to the door.
At first I thought he was showing us a takeaway restaurant around the corner.
We were shocked to realize that we had just been showed the door with no explanation.
We will not be supporting Millbank Spice and they have just lost two potential customers.
We will let other people know about the awful manner in which we were treated.
We have enjoyed several meals at Millbank Spice and all have been a wonderful experience. Value for money and fresh tasting Indian food is what you'll get here. The service is sometimes slow, but when you are relaxing over a few courses it doesn't matter.
The waiters are efficient, but sometimes lacking a smile with their service. I would recommend Millbank Spice for a quite dinner for two.
When we ordered the Millbank Spice waiter was very unfriendly. We had poppadums and relishes for starters. They only gave us one dish of relishes to share and my sister who is six months pregnant could barely lean over the table to help herself. She politely asked the waiter to bring another set of relishes and he said it wasn't possible! Then she asked for a small spoon and the waiter was hesitant to bring one. God knows why?
Half way through the starter, our main meal arrived. The waiter started to go on about how it would get cold and wouldn't taste nice if it wasn't hot. We politely explained that it was their responsibility to keep the dishes warm until we were ready and he then started to moan about how their kitchen is small and that it's downstairs, etc, etc. Then he sarcastically said that he would bring the food back in 40 minutes and that customers are always right.
The food at Millbank Spice was okay but I am would be so embarassed to ever take anyone there again. We all left feeling really annoyed.
